Breaking News : Egypt withdrew the ambassador from Tel Aviv

I knew the news from 2 sources but with no official confirmation.
Egypt has withdrawn  her ambassador in Tel Aviv.
Again there is no official confirmation.
I do not have any confirmation yet.
Khaled Mashal sent a very powerful message to Hosni Mubarak I doubt the later would understand.

Updates No. 1:
  • The people who died or rather killed  in Gaza were more than those who died in the Israeli Invasion in 1967.
  • There were protests in all over Egypt
  • Tomorrow there will be more protests including one 9 AM CLT in the Tahrir Square that will march to the Abdeen Palace in protest.
  • Israel has used today AH-64DI Apaches and F-15I Ra'am Surface in its air forces.
  • There is a disgusting rumor that says Omar Soliman told the Israelis to get rid from Hamas in any possible way ,well it is enough that that Al Quds Al Arabi to know that it is not real
  • I am so tired

  1. This isn't the first time we go through this nightmare, and every time the US says the same thing: Israel has a right to defend itself.

You know and I know that the rockets fired from Gaza might as well be made out of cardboard, but the fact remains they look like rockets, and no country can be hit with rockets and expected to sit there and take it.

What I really hated are the various movements on the Arab blogosphere that whenever this happens, they call Egypt a traitor.

Egypt has been negligent in only one regard, it hasn't opened the Raffah crossing for the Aid convoys to come into Gaza. Today I watched Amr Adeeb argue with a hamas spokesperson, the Hamas guy kept wanting to emphasize that Egypt didn't allow the aid convoys in, and Amr kept interrupting him shouting out that the raffah crossing is open, which in fact it isn't. It's open only for the wounded from Gaza to be sent to Egypt, and not for the aid to come in from Egypt to gaza.

So what would Egypt lose if it lets the aid in. We're of course talking medicine, food flour, etc.. not weapons. I can understand perfectly why they wouldn't want to let any members of hamas in, but can't find a single convincing reason why they wouldn't let aid.

Amr kept insisting that Egypt shouldn't be blamed for this that Arabs can send aid through the other crossing. He specifically mentioned Jordan, and Syria, but the obvious fact he' completely ignored is that Egypt is the one with the direct crossing into Gaza.

yes, and the fact that Egypts borders once included Gaza. People who say Egypt is a traitor should at least be specific....Sadat might of been perhaps, although I can understand he just wanted to look after his country. That doesnt mean all Egyptians want Israel to be there. People are always quick to call someone a 'traitor' for shaking hands with any Israeli leader or making any deals, look how much beef Fatah and the PLO got for signing the Oslo Accords from the more hardline groups within and outside of Palestine. This whole conflict is extremely complex. There are so many different nations interests at stake here. Syria, Jordan and Egypt (leaders not people) were/are all worried Israel might take bits of their land (Golan Heights, West Bank and the Sinai), plus their worried of the influence it would have on people having a westernised nation state in the Middle East and on top of all that there is always internal conflict in these countries. I guess the main thing right now though is to put an end to the bombing of gaza. Peace
