He is an Iraqi Human in the first place

Yes throwing the shoes at the president or any person is not acceptable ,it is insulting act for sure. Yes journalists should not do this act. The Journalist’s mission is to cover and uncover the truth to the end of that talk that I respect but some are forgetting that Muntader is an Iraqi human being in the first place.

I do not know why some people are attacking Muntader Al-Zaidi and the majority of the Arab people who are happy for what he had done.

Please do not tell me that fancy talk of manners, civilizations and religions because manners, civilizations and religions will allow to do such ‘savage act’ in case like in our case , the case of the deliberate murder of a nation , the deliberate murder of a whole civilization, the deliberate murder of a country called Iraq in that awful way.

All those who are attacking Muntader are not Iraqis and do not live in Iraq to know why he had done such act that defamed the Arabs in their view as if the Arabs were not defamed for decades or even centuries in the World in the first place. All those who are attack Muntader I am sure  will do the same and even more “trying to kill Bush for instance” if their countries suffer or rather completely damaged , I think any human , any respectable real human will do the same thing like Muntader.

Think about the daily funerals in Iraq ,that became a daily routine. Think about all those orphans and widows in Iraq. Think about all those Iraqis who were forced to leave Iraq, more than 20% of the Iraqi people are now refugees !!??

Think about all those buildings holding that fantastic long history being destroyed. Think about Iraq , the united Iraq which was never thought to be one thousand pieces based on races and religions !!

I do not know what to tell  you ! I got a horrible collections of photos I can’t even re-open to see it again for what was used to be known Iraq.

Think about all that along with the fact that You can’t put an end to that hopeless situation. Think about the fact You can’t join the resistance because you do not know where the resistance is from the terrorists.

To make it short again Imagine Your Country In the Place of Iraq and Your in the Place of Muntader and Bush in front of You !!

Throwing the Shoe to the face of Bush is better that killing him on the land of Iraq , killing him would make him a hero but the shoes suit him. Shoes are low and dirty just like him.

I am so surprised to find Arab people who are denouncing that act where as most of the American reaction was total understanding and respect.

Now to all those wise people who are saying that Muntader is lucky son of a gun who did it only because Bush is an American President not an Arab ruler implying that he is coward !! Well I respect this point of view but I do not think that Muntader is a coward , he attacked the President of the United States not the useless puppet beside him. Regarding the Arab Rulers You can’t deny that no one ever thought to do something like this because of manners, civilizations, religions and above all fear. Anyhow I am sure that all the Arab rulers now give their orders to their security  not to allow any journalist to come near to them wearing any shoe !!

  1. Hi,

As far as I can tell, very few journalists or bloggers here in the USA have condemned Muntader. I don't read pro-Bush blogs; probably you will see a lot of condemnation of Muntader there. What else would we expect from the friends of Bush?

I support blogger Pharyngula's idea that Americans should donate shoes to a charity that helps the poor and needy, then sending a postcard to Bush that says, "A pair of shoes has been donated to the needy in your name. This is a farewell kiss from the American people, you dog." Many here in the USA will participate in this kind of protest activity, if there is any publicity.

Also, I expect that someone will soon set up a defense committee in this country to demand that the Iraqi government release Muntader.

    Cheers,
    Mark

  3. Hello Zeinobia,

Allow me to disagree with you here. First of all, I think everyone can easily find excuses for whatever unethical or uncivilized deeds he does. Even those people who slaughter civilians and innocent people do have their own excuses and can simply say that their countries are occupied by military forces from here and there.

But we have to ask ourselves first. Shall we really buy those excuses all the time? Is it ok to an uncivilized action like this one, just because we do not like president Bush for example? Aren't there any other ethical and civilized actions that we can do instead of such ones, especially that we are not going to gain anything from throwing a shoe on Bush while on the other hand it will harm our image and shows the word how desperate we are? Why do we simply abandon out morals and ethics and don't give a rat's ass for our image just because we are angry or because we see that others are unjust and deal with us with double standards?

I think even our religion doesn't want us to be mean and unethical because our enemies are mean and unethical, or at least because we see them this way.

I am not defending Bush as some may claim here. Let Bush go to hell! But what I am defending her is our logic, reason and morals.

  5. @Mark, I am not surprise from the Pro-Bush blogs to attack Muntader and condemn them but I am surprised from the Arabs who are attacking him where as you referred most Americans did not attack him but rather considered him as a human.

@anonymous/lion of babylon/amr, be a real Lion and sign with your real name , I know it is you Amr

@Dear Tarek , I do not see how it harmed our image on the contrary all the reaction I received from the state was more of respect and for the first time a total understand to the level of anger in the Mideast for What had Bush done.
My dear we have been civilized since very long and we followed ethics and morals for a long time but it did not reach to any result Tarek , let's be realistic, this is not a rude act,why do not you see it an anger act !!?? an refusal act on what had happened to Iraq
May be because we are not Iraqis how it feels.
Please do not tell me our religion because our religion also refuses more this passive act of all Muslims towards what is happening in Iraq
