Mr.Al Bashir goes to Darfur !!

_45545863_bashir-feather5
It is wonderful to see how suddenly Omar Al Bashir decided to go to Darfur on Sunday after all those years.
I want to clear something that pisses me off , regarding the ICC and Gaza , with my all respect why would the ICC care if the Arab rulers do not care ??
IF the Arab rulers want a fair investigation to be conducted in Gaza ,then they have to ask for it directly and officially , not just talking and talking !!
There is something called ACTION.
Look again I will return again to Al Bashir and say that the Arabs learnt nothing from Saddam Hussein’s lesson and they are repeating the same mistakes over and over.
Speaking about the national security of Egypt , Omar Al Bashir endangered Egypt’s national security and is still endangering it .Sudan is Egypt’s south Gate and another sign of failure in Mubarak’s policies is that we are always Reactive and not Proactive as usually , I do not know if it is because of our alliance with the United States or because this is how the regime is but I know that the Egyptian regime had the chance from several years ago to stop all those terrible wars not only in Darfur but in the rest of Sudan, if you want to secure Egypt, then you must secure Sudan ,this is a golden rule.
Now of course the Chinese and the Russian back up Sudan ,so somehow things won’t get ugly so easily like for instance in Iraq , also I believe Mubarak will fight as much as he can to stop this because it is not only about politics or national security I am afraid but also for economic proposes , the Sudanese economy is booming because of Oil and currently the Egyptian businessmen are heading towards the paradise found in the south. Ahmed Bahget is building a new Dream Land in Sudan and Citadel Capital of Ahmed Heikal is leasing thousands of acres for more than 50 years there!!
Another point regarding accusing the Darfur parties and groups of treason because they deal with Israel ;well actually not all the parties and groups in Darfur deal with Israel , it is one group to be accurate and it is the Justice and Equality Movement. I am not defending them but did the Arab governments stand with the Darfur people so we will start to blame them why they go to the Israelis and ask for their help ??
Before you blame the people of Darfur blame yourself.
Before you blame the west blame yourself.
And Again the people in Darfur are Muslims and one day we will be asked about their suffering
Updated :
  • It is very rude to say what he said today in Darfur .
  • I bet that the Chinese official that signed the deal with him today was laughing from the scene he was watching today !! This is so pathatic

  1. Correction...the Justice and Equality movement is not the one with the Israeli ties but rather the Sudan Liberation Movement under the direction of Noor.

Al Bashir or rather his government definitely committed crimes not against Darfur only but all of Sudan..but my whole issue with the Darfur crisis is that nothing is consistent and nothing makes clear sense....the armed rebels groups were the ones who started the unrest in the region and when the government couldn't control them they started arming other tribes....there is no clear evidence that Al Bashir is the only one responsible for what is happening in Darfur, there are many conflicting information about the number of Darfurians who died (beginning with 200-300,000 up to almost a million then backdown to 200 - 300,000 then it was finally reduced to about 10-30,000), also originally when the whole Darfur and ICC issue began the crime was "genocide" and the ICC could not prove that so they changed it to crimes against humanity and crimes of war.

I want al bashir and his government to be held responsible for all their crimes against Sudan but this ICC warrant will only increase unrest in an already troubled country....we can't afford to have Sudan going down the path of unrest and possible coups again especially since the government was finally working with almost all of the Darfurian rebel groups and particularly at a time when the presidential elections were supposed to happen.

I really hope I'm mistaken and that nobody will take advantage of the weak government's situation and act recklessly. The last thing we need is another military coup or more irresponsible government behavior that ruins what we have been waiting for in Sudan for 20 years.

  2. Dear Dena, I am so happy that I am hearing a Sudanese speaking about this matter in this way. You are right it is not only Darfur , Darfur just like the pick of the ice berg , I read from time to time unrest in White Nile area and other parts
I am more scared than You Dena because I feel that Sudan and also Egypt are facing another Iraq situation.
Here in my post I was just wondering why some Arabs do not feel sorry for the people in Darfur and why they have to stop blaming the ICC
The problem in Sudan is "what are the alternatives available to get away this deep problem ?"
I think the Sudanese are the best people to answer this question.

  3. The world expresses great concern about Darfur but no one does anything to help. How sad. Dena's points are well taken. How do you correct the situation without outside help when the criminals are in charge?

However I take issue with Zeinobia on Iraq. I ask you are the Iraqis better off now than they were under Saddam? They think so! why don't you? Perhaps I don;t understand your statement.

  4. Miscribe, I am afraid many of the Iraqis I know say otherwise not to mention the foreign politicians that expressed this over and over unfortunately ,for God sake Iraq is on the verge of a civil war , how many Iraqis have left the country ,there is no security in Iraq at all
The trade off was horrible because the change did not come from inside but came from outside , it was forced on the people
