WHOM then worked in France^s Paris-Match and other mags. and also HIS works appeared in American PLAYBOY monthly for over 2 decades?? STAVROs characters are more Eastern and Arabic..and also HIS colour taste..WAS so,ELEGANT! HIS>T H I C K hair that crowned HIS genius head & that thick MOUSTACHE>that due to His age..went Grey, turned HIM into a well recognised character, wherever HE went,HE was a distinguished personality.. HE also published in the 1980s The>Photo< magazine..as HE revived & directed AD-DABBOUR(The WASP)a Satirical-Political weekly that once in the 1940/50/60s decorated its pages by the cartoons of the Great Armenian/Lebanese caricaturist/Late Mr.DIRAN ADJEMIAN? STAVRO resurrected it and gave it a new..look?... Today,As HIS pens/brushes/colours the camera(s) HE used to register a part of our heritage in some black & white/some in colour as a reflection of the rise of the phoenix from the ashes > LEBANON that is< will miss the touch of HIS fingers and the click on his camera all went silent 48 hours ago, also all the people he worked with..colleagues/friends/admirers we/ I join them in saying:DEAR STAVRO..YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED WITH EVERY BRUSH STROKE OR FLASH BURST..WE WITNESS! MAY YOU REST IN HEAVENLY..PEACE!!..(R.I.P STAVRO JABRA Born:18 February 1947-12 March 2017)..& GOD bless!!...From Is-hak BARSOUMIAN/London-U.K

7 HOTELS Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03299393610752167927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003335.post-75165815564646279692016-09-29T14:37:48.655+02:002016-09-29T14:37:48.655+02:00Egypt..MOTHER of Modern Arab culture as always wa...Egypt..MOTHER of Modern Arab culture as always was the AVANT GARDE of it too, in 20/21 centuries...the cradle of the free Arab press, that took abreast any world talent and adopted IT as one of her own, the Art of CARICATURE, was considered a blasphemy a sin in some Ottoman/Turks ruled countries ...but Egypt did not took hid of such mandate , even opened its doors to runaway cartoonists from all over East/West countries that persecuted such talents?! like the Great/Late Mr.SAROUKHAN..MARIO MORELLI DI POPOLO of children s magazine SINDIBAD/ just few to mention..and many many more,But the sense of Humour runs wild in EGYPTIANS blood..even in their dark moments , This does not mean having thick skin, but they know how to turn tears of sadness into tears of JOY! Abiding by their famous saying: MA HADEESH WAKHED MINHA HAGA meaning - Nothing One Will Take When He/She Leaves---in other words>> when DEAD! That s why Egypt was and still is rich in having the BEST Cartoonists and Comedians..since 1900 s, when PRESS & CINEMA took off, but before that on stages of their many Theatres, even though Egypt s ruling class and elites were mostly &originally foreigners, but street wise common people created their own venues of LET OUTS,,and when periodicals such as ROSE EL YOUSSEF.AKHER SAA/KASHKOL..some others too critisised the Ottomans/Brits, and the ruling palace...it was mostly read by the High & working classes ...but the ideas were taken from the street level people, and which in the end ,ended the tyranny of the ruling >>(few )by the 1953 revolution, with it new era started in its press..as a republic >> AL GOMHORIYA<< daily published, and SABAH EL KHAIR(Good Morning)a sister of Rose el Youssef weekly..filled by hundreds of cartoons..new talents arrived..Like ZOHDI/BAHGAT/REKHA/HAMED/TOGHAN/MUSTAPHA HUSSAIN...& many many more ,Egypt s press became not a school but a UNIVERSITY of this ART...which inspired LEBANESE PRESS in the 1950s and on,IN 1974 i was fortunate to shake hands with my childhood SAMIR magazine s in 1959-61 cartoonist the GREAT Artist Mr.HELMI EL TOUNI,who visited Lebanon and stayed there for few years?? for me this was a dream come true ,meeting him .even for few minutes, By the way,The great/late a martyr indeed, Palestinian cartoonist Mr.NAJI ALI was inspired by Mr.TOUNI s HAMADA character on SAMIR magazines pages of 1959/60 ,which Mr.ALI (R.I.P ) turned it into the helpless Palestinian person/boy , called him>>Handhala! which appears on GAZA poster on this side bar on this- Egyptian Chronicles -page?an example of such influence Egyptian cartoonists & comedians had & have on the whole Arab region...all i can say & finish with this humble COMMENT by saying 3 sincere words from my heart >>THANK YOU EGYPT << /Regards from London:is-hak Barsoumian
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03299393610752167927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003335.post-20981384599313885682013-10-13T05:51:18.563+02:002013-10-13T05:51:18.563+02:00Tahrir is Fascism!

The presidency is not and was never the main issue or even the problem. There is an intellectual void that if not adequately filled will be consumed by power. That is the simple reality. The failure of the "educated" liberal caste to maneuver collectively throughout the past three years with any degree of maturity has practically handed over the reigns to the military. Instead if discussing strategies, principles and plans of action we squabble about men. Let me ask you this, would you have had any problem with the above caricature had it been Baradie not Seesy being carried over to the chair?Jesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15668958834909319918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003335.post-43846897606143154752013-10-13T01:47:49.128+02:002013-10-13T01:47:49.128+02:00Thanks God, that there is still someone speaks wit...Thanks God, that there is still someone speaks with some sense of logic...many people of Egypt prefered to freeze thier minds and choosed the ready made decisiosn especially that if it matching a previous period of time that, the've been through (((abdul nasser time)) others blindly stopped realizing or definding the human right for who so ever was...thanks againlogical Hallucinationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04729569269192917116noreply@blogger.com
