I do not know if that is true or not but I agree with that answer , things are too unclear in Egypt to level that even SCAF does not know what is going to happen in the future or even next week. Uncertainty is the word in Cairo.
Now regarding that crisis between SCAF and the American administration regarding crisis , well history taught me one thing : There is always something in the background we will not know about except after sometime. The only thing I know for sure is that the US administration does not really care for democracy or human rights as much it cares about keeping the Egyptian army neutralized in the region and the Egyptian regime an ally.

It also appears that Egyptians of all stripes, even the Ikhwan (who will soon be in charge of your country and your wardrobe choices), pretend they will get tough with Israel, but in fact they'll do anything for American handouts. ReplyDeleteIt's always nice when someone calls a few billion dollars "a handout". Also, SCAF is not afraid of calling Israel... Israel. It is with Israel that president Sadate signed a peace treaty. Now the Moubarak regime, and the SCAFm are not particularly friendly towards that cuntry, which has often complained that the peace was cold. What Egypt needs now is less empty rhetoric and more commonsense.

Were you talking to me? Because that story is entirely consistent with what I said. There is no one -- not the SCAF, not the Ikhwan, not even Mohamed El Naschie -- who would take the populist step of initiating hostilities with Israel or do any other thing to derail the USA gravy train.
I think that the only way is rounding up all Anarchist groups and forces to boost the needed initiatives.. You know that blunt open armed contrast with the Military Institution will lead nowhere, except will leave a long bloody trail of casualties and will be used as an excuse for "foreign" interventions of all kinds from "humanitarian" to "Muscling in"..

ReplyDeleteEgypt is facing a growing economical disaster from unemployment, currency devaluation, lack of foreign investments, weak tourism, political instability, dwindling reserves, etc.
The only choice they have is to do the right things and accept whatever handouts the IMF, International Bank,EU,USA and rich Arab countries give.
