Happy New Ancient Egyptian/Coptic year dear people
Today 9/11 despite it marks one of the worst incidents that changed the world forever is actually the start of the new year according to the Ancient Egyptian/Coptic calendar.

On this occasion, I would like to share those ancient Egyptian cubit rods at the Egyptian Museum of Cairo from a couple of years ago.
The Egyptian cubit rod or royal cubit is the earliest standard attested measurement in history.
They were used for length measurement.

According to what I understand from the labels on them those rods had some astronomical measurements and details, thus I am quite interested in knowing what they were being used considering the fact that the ancient Egyptians had impressive astronomical knowledge.

Interestingly I know that it is the start of the new Ge’ez new year in Ethiopia as well so happy new year to them especially in the forgotten Tigray people
