Ramadan Kareem
Here is our 15th night of Ramadan Arabian nights.
Tonight, once again we meet a recurring theme in the Arabian Nights book as well as Our Egyptian state radio show: The Seal of Solomon.
A modern Islamic rendition of the Solomon seal |
The seal of Solomon or King Solomon’s ring is believed to be a magical ring that gives whoever possesses it a huge power as it was made by the Djinn for King Solomon. That talisman is believed to enslave the Djinn.
It was mentioned before in our show the Salama’s tale in 2010, Badr Al-Budur and the Sultan of gypsies in 2011, and King Rokn El-Zaman’s tale in 2016.
Now, you can refresh your memory and listen to last night’s episode.
Here is the 15th episode of our tale tonight. It was episode no.597 of our favourite show.
The Dervish seems to appear from nowhere, but he says he deceived the guards by claiming to be the Princess’ physician.
Princess Sabah asks her to tell her fortune, but he says that he will tell her what she wants when they are alone. Fatom is going to leave but Sabah insists she is there.
The old Dervish speaks and tells the Princess that according to the prophecy she will marry in a strange land her prince.
He then throws a bomb and tells her that Krawan is actually Al-Ashkeef himself!!
Sabah and Fatom are in shock but he reminds her that this supposed prince did not tell how he arrived to their land. Where are his ships if he came by sea?? Where is his caravan?
“Surprise him with those questions,” he tells Sabah and Fatom.
He tells them Al-Ashkeef is a damned Ifrit. Sabah is glad that they are only engaged but the Dervish warns her, that the Ashkeef is dangerous.
Al-Ashkeef is an actually weak creature, the Dervish says but his source of power is the Djinn servant he enslaved and bound to the famous Seal of Solomon. If they are able to take off the ring from his finger, he will always have his power
The Dervish tells the Princess to make Krawan drunk till he is asleep so she can take off the ring and sees him for real as Al-Ashkeef. She should rub the ring, so its Djinn servant appears and obeys her as well as protects her. The Dervish introduces himself at last as Abu El-Yoser who only appears in hard times.
Sabah and Fatom has a plan. Sabah sends Fatom to apologize on her behalf to Krawan and calls him to her quarter.
Krawan comes and knocks on her door….
Here is the 15th episode of the tale televised.
Tomorrow night inshallah we will know if Sabah succeeds in her plan to expose Al-Ashkeef or not.
