Covering the sad event

I was waiting to know how the Press will cover the death of Mohamed Mubarak JR , shall it join the Official national TV mourning or it will give it its real size. Well surprisingly most of the newspapers did not overreact like the TV channels and radio stations last night. It was a first page news of course with inside coverage ranged between 1 to half page plus of course the columnists who shared the President his sadness over the loss of his eldest grandson.
Still there are few headlines that made me wonder but not to much because I know that this was not the maximum level of hypocrisy and it could be worse.
Of course Al Gomhouria comes no.1 in the hypocrite headlines :
A night where the Cairo airport cried in
Al Ahram comes no.2 ,it was not hypocrite but rather unrealistic
A Public funeral for Mohamed Mubarak !!!!
Public funeral for God sake ,it was a semi military funeral and the Preisdential guards were the ones who held his coffin along with his uncle !! It was not a public funeral by all means, people are not banned to join public funerals. Yesterday Salah Salem was closed in the afternoon because of the funeral for God Sake !!
Of course the Mubaraks published a quarter page obituary , its size was big but it was short in its content , only his parents, brother, grandparents "from both sides" and his uncles with their wives "from both sides" were mentioned.
Again the rest of the headlines could have been worse in my point of view.
I must hint out that Ibrahim Eissa Op-ed in today's weekly issue of Al-Dostour is by far the best Op-ed I have read , may be because it was sincere coming from an opponent not from a hypocrite official chief in editor who does not give damn for real about the personal loss of Mohamed Hosni Mubarak ,the human , not the President.
Now it seems that privately owned satellite TV channels won't join the official National TV in its mourning as today most of these channels will return back to their usual program.
There will be football match , an important apparently at 7 PM between Ismaili and Al-Ahly in the premier league I suppose.
OTV will air tonight an exclusive interview on 10 PM in their new news night talkshow "Baladana" with Haifa Wahbi and Khalid Youssef. I predict Haifa will be so modest and will be wearing something black. She will mourn the little child and for sure Youssef won't attack Mubarak indirectly as usually.
Now there were info revealed later yesterday.
  • Mubarak glanced his grandson for the last time after his return from Paris in Al-Gala'a military hospital.
  • It was from the most famous and best hospital in Egypt
  • Fathi Sorror stated that the boy died from a heart attack and that since his childhood he suffered from a heart disease !! Well I do not want to seem skeptical but the kid did not die from a heart attack and he did not suffer from a heart disease , a heart disease child won't be to play football in Wadi Dagla club in the Barcelona junior league there for God sake !! Of course Sorror can say whatever he wants but for the sake of the Child please either they keep the reason of death for themselves or they say the truth !!

  6. All these regime's newspapers and NDPs are all very well know for polishing Mubarak xxs! So dont expect anything real coming from them! They might as well go out and cried in the Tahrir square to show to Mubarak we really cared and feel miserable for you Ya Rais! I love Ahly and Ismaily, whoever wins deserves it!
