24 Hours

Now Obama is in his way to Saudi Arabia and after 24 hours he will be in Cairo. The Obamamania is in its epic in the newspapers.
There is no single newspaper published today that did not dedicate a page or two for the visit whether from the reports or from the op-eds. Of course the official newspapers are celebrating the visit even before the speech in a strange way.
Now here are some remarks that caught my eyes now :
  • A News saying that the Egyptian Presidency has invited Abdel Halim Kandeel of Kafya !!
  • All Egyptian people are wondering in fear on how the traffic will be tomorrow , some are thinking in taking the day off !!
  • The Egyptian artists from actors and musicians sent a message to Obama as if he is going to read it !!!
  • The Egyptian FM tells the people not to put high hopes on the speech.
I read the interview of Obama with the BBC , of course the big surprise and shock to the world is when Obama called Mubarak "a force for stability and good"!!

Update#1:
  • Here are my quick shots I took on last Monday , I was planning to take some shots today but I am in no shape currently to go any where plus I do not know how the security measures will be .

  •  The interior ministry gave its instructions for traffic tomorrow and thank God I am staying at home as there will be a traffic jam with new directions.
  • The security forces have arrested from few hours members from Kafya including Abdel Halim Kandeel who was invited to the speech , those members were on their way to Tahrir Square to have a sit in and protest agains Obama's visit.
  • The Leftists and Nasserites are highly skeptical from this visit by the way, you can even see it in their blog.
  • Cairo and Giza especially near the areas Obama is going to visit have turned in to military points ,thank God that I did not take my camera to get some snaps.
  • I forget to tell you earlier that the Giza street near the University were given their orders to park their cars some where else !!!
  • Obama will pass by the H1N1 tests in Egypt , the Egyptian Presidency doctors will check him.

  1. I can just imagine that Obama's speech will consist of a lot of drivel about Arab contributions to civilization in the early middle ages, which was actually the contribution of Jews and Christians living under Moslem rule. Their contributions were in spite of Moslem rule, not because of it. Look at the Arab world today? What do you see? Chaos, violence, poverty, blaming everybody else for their problems except themselves. It says a lot about a culture that you have to go all the way back to the early Middle Ages to cite their alleged contributions to civilization.

  2. again: Obama pandering the good Muslims, Bush's only mistake is when he embarrassed and boycotted Mubarak regime, Mubarak is the right ally in war against terrorism and radicalism in the region and that why Israel and America in general prefer him than a free - elected terrorist leader.

  3. Anonymous,

I think the same thing could be said about America, which has brought chaos, violence, poverty and blaming to all regions of the world. At least Arabs are doing these things to themselves without imposing and inflicting them on other countries.

The Christians and Jews made significant contributions under Muslim rule because they were given that opportunity, they were not treated like the Muslims who were killed off during the Crusades.

The Arab world will only rise again if the United States ends its support to Saudi Arabia and military dictatorships in the region. Sadly, this will never happen. The United States only supports "democracy" when it serves its own interests.

  4. America has not brought chaos, violence and poverty to all regions of the world. America has been sucked into the chaos, violence and poverty so endemic to the Arab and Moslem World. What is keeping the Arab world back is your culture of victimology. Stop blaming everybody else for your problems and take a look a deep look at your culture and religion. What is the common denominator among all the countries where chaos, violence, religious fanaticism and poverty reigns - Afganistan, Pakistan, Iraq, etc. It is Islam. Have you ever wondered whether the mess the Moslem world is in might be due to your religion? There is not an Arab democracy on the face of the earth.

  5. Anonymous,

Are we still talking about the Arab world?! Afghanistan and Pakistan aren't Arab countries, but I don't expect an ignorant American who can't locate his own state on the map to know this simple fact.

Your historical racism, this time disguised as hate towards Islam and Muslims, isn't going to change the fact that during 200 years only, America has brought ethnic cleansing, slavery, imperialism, nuclear chaos, capitalism, mass materialism, poverty, greed, wars, dictatorships, and invasions without any moral justification to people across the planet. And do not get me started on America's abuse of the environment - a country that consumes most of the world's energy and food resources and yet emits one-fourth of its polutive gases.

In regards to "religious fanaticism", I do not need to remind you that America is home to the most radical Christians in the world.

While you continue to condemn Islam for messing up the Muslim world, you ought to ask yourself about your own involvement in bringing suffering upon those people. The fact is that America will never fight a country that is fairly equal in military, which is why a democracy in N. Korea isn't important. America would rather pic on defenseless countries that got wealth to be looted, countries whom she knows she can stomp and oppress!

  6. Typical Moslem Arab reaction. The Moslem culture of victimology is real strong in you. Pakistan and Afganistan may not be Arab countries but they are still handicapped by all the destructive ideas and habits that Islam brings. The Moslem world hates the West because you are still stuck in the dark ages, hobbled by your primitive religion and jealous of the West and its achievements. Wherever Moslems migrant they blame violence and trouble. Look at Europe today with its steath jihad. I don't know on what you base your assertion that America is home to the most radical Christians in the world. Aside from the lunatic fringe, Christianity does not advocate killing non-believers as Islam does and treating non-Moslems as official second class citizens. You should read your own Koran more carefully.

  7. The West has great justification in being suspicious of Moslems as current events show again and again: terrorist cells in Western countries, converts to "The Religion of Peace" committing terror acts, Moslems immigrants in Europe running wild, constant whinning - the list goes on and on.

  8. 7:17 PM - Thank you so much for illustrating the Moslem cult of victimology so clearly again and again in your postings.

  9. 7:17 PM - You also clearly illustrate another facet of Arab culture - the practice of making wild, outrageous accusations that have no basis in fact.

  10. This is a response to the last 4 comments, which I assume were written by the same person.

Anon, so far you have not addressed anything from my previous post, in fact your anti-Muslim rants only proves my point further about the United States' policy and racists like yourself who are so hung up in their own self-righteousness.

There are millions of radical Christians in America, in terms of relgious dogma and bigotry they are just as bad as those Islamic terrorists you hate. No religion is perfect, each one has a dark past and Christianity has as much blood on its hands as the other major world religions. However, I will not sit here and bash the "other" religion the way you do, simply because I respect other people's beliefs.

I think it's time for America to stop "helping" other countries and start cleaning up your own backyard before pointing your finger at the rest of the world. Isn't it funny how throughout history America has always had a problem with a particular group of people? First it was the native Americans, then it was the Africans, then Japan, then Russia, now it's the Arabs and Muslims, I wonder whose next on the list of the US war rampage! Apparently, the entire world is wrong and AMERICA is always right and morally superior!

Anon, the religion of peace is here to stay whether you like it or not. I have read my Qur'an, thank you. Now please worry about your own and leave us to handle ours.

  11. 4:04 - Not everything you read in a sensational Arabic rag newspaper is the holy truth the you should believe wholeheartedly. I see no need to address preposterous, ludricous accusations. It is so funny of you to blame the United States for everything. The United States has contributed a great deal to the world in science, art, literature, etc. The Arab world has to go way back to the Middle Ages to cite alleged contributions to civilizations. The Arab world will only be able to advance and achieve progress once it stops its culture of victimhood. Oh, and by the way, I am all for the U.S. withdrawing its military and financial aid from Afganistan, Pakistan and Iraq. The result will be its people engaging in killing each other which is fine with me. Those countries all not worth saving or worth the life of a single American soldier. I have no intention of addressing your delusions any longer.
