The tuitions fees protests in London went from bad to worse , from a local event to an international one as soon as the angry protesters
attacked the royal Rolls Royce Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla.

Scared Camilla , look to her hand |
Camilla was terrified when she found angry protesters throwing paint buckets and stones chasing the royal car , strangely her husband did not freak out like her. May be he was trained for similar issues !!
Royal Car is attacked by protesters from Sky News
Of course I wonder why Charles’ security team chose that specific street when they know there were angry protesters who attacked the treasury building and other governmental buildings in the street !!? I am not a Londoner but they could have postponed the bloody Royal Variety show at least to show some amount of the consideration to what these students want from tuitions cut !!

Paint thrown on the royal car |
I watch the demonstration live on Sky News since 10 PM Cairo local time , I saw a glimpse of the demo when it was really peaceful in the beginning on Al Jazeera , I did not think it will result in that violence and anger from both sides : The protesters and the authorities not to mention the ordinary citizens. I believe that group of protesters should not have attacked the governmental buildings nor the royal car , now the Police and the government will use this against their cause.
Here are some photos from the protest.

@Z: the real question is why did the police knowing the demo was nearby allow for their car to go there. Personally, I dnt think this was by chance and if it was the police are to blame. Im against violence but I applaud those kids for standing up and fighting for their future, I wish our youth had the same opportunity and drive. Older generations need to listen to their younger generations, loads of anger and I think the World is set for some youth waves.
ReplyDeleteThis was a peep view of the undercurrent feelings of some English towards class stratification in their society, after all the English royalty have created sophisticated class distinctions throughout Britain by excelling the art of snobbery.
ReplyDeleteThe Canadian.
Looks like it's just a way to move the focus away from Assange!
ReplyDeleteCNN was covering this more than the BBC!
ReplyDelete@The Canadian: actually loads of ppl here have been happy about the upcoming royal wedding and while some feel strongly against the royalty the majority dnt. The students destroyed and attacked many items they viewed as a symbol of authority over them and there whereabouts where known, so, the question again is who allowed the royal car into that area? and why?!!
ReplyDeleteIm amazed that this got so much international attention, I was at the protest, things got violent, kind of propelled by the police a little.
ReplyDeleteIt did get a little out of hand especially that there was an extremist group I heard about called anarchists doing alot alot of damage. But if we didnt damage they wouldnt have listened, even though the law was passed anyway. still we lost by a very slim margin in parliament.
3000GBP to 9000GBP a year is too big a jump.
