Blessed and Happy Eid Adha 2024 regardless of all the sadness worldwide, especially in the Middle East and Africa.

Here is a special “Last Meal” of Eid’s sheep by Egypt’s legendary painter and illustrator, the underrated Hussein Bicar.

The Last Meal by Bicar 

Published in 1954, it is watercolours on paper. After seeing it on Bicar's official Facebook page, I admit that I enhanced the painting a bit.

I won’t lie but what is happening in Palestine especially in Gaza and in Sudan makes it hard to celebrate Eid Adha.

Here is a sheep the Palestinians in Gaza were keeping for Eid only to be killed in the Israeli shelling in North Gaza.

In Sudan, the people are on the verge of famine due to the war launched by the Emirati-backed Rapid Support Forces, despite our history of importing meat and cattle over the past years.

May it be a blessed Eid Adha for the people of Gaza, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Rohingya and Congo if it is not a truly happy one.
