When was the last time you saw the Egyptians active and vocal about their rights since the 1952 coup !!?? This is a question I want to ask everyone from the opposition especially the Socialists and Nationalists who suddenly are standing against ElBaradei just because he traveled to the States and met with a group of Egyptians whom were concerned with the future of their mother nation and many of them had left it due to the regime policies.
Unfortunately they are repeating what the regime media is saying but they are more sincere because they really care for the country but let’s be realistic here we should stop this language of treason to the rest of this old talk ; Mustafa Kamel and Saad Zaglol traveled abroad too but not to gather Egyptian communities there around them but to seek help from international communities and no one dared to suspect their loyalty to their country.

I do not know why there is an attack on ElBaradei
as if he is running tomorrow for the elections despite he is making clear that he will not as long as the constitution does not change and even if it is changed , it will be up to the people if they want to run for the office as simple as that.
Yes what he was saying has been said over and over by opposition figures in Egypt whom we can’t deny are not as popular as him but for some reason people gathered around him in a way many others have failed in for decades and this is not an irrelevant thing we can ignore , he managed to make people restore believe in themselves again and that they will restore their rights if they want too , why they attack him then !!??
To make people , ordinary people go and sign the “together We change” statements is itself not a small thing but rather great thing after decades of repression and fear.

Yes ElBaradei needs to be more active in Egypt , needs to be more aggressive in term of his next political moves especially we will have elections soon enough but he does not need more arrows from inside the serious opposition. We need one front in this stage to change the constitution and then everybody will have both the freedom and the rights to choose whoever he sees better for presidency. We should put our ideological and political differences aside for the time being if we truly want better future for us and for our children.

ReplyDeleteYes, that is obviously ElBaradei's biggest flaw in the eyes of the opposition.
From the post: "...Mustafa Kamel and Saad Zaglol traveled abroad too..."
It seems nobody in the opposition is sufficiently xenophobic!? What kind of future can Egypt possibly have with opposition that isn't xenophobic and reactionary? Everyone knows that is the cure for what's wrong with Egypt, so why can't people get their acts together!?
Dear Craig , I do not think that you have a complete picture or have knowledge or political or social history to throw charges like that. Our opposition like any other opposition in the world you will find nationalist parties who refuse to get support from abroad in order to ensure our independence , it is simple as that.
ReplyDelete@programmer craig, So that makes you a perfect candidate as an opposition since you are sufficiently xenophobic and you are good at it. Man you should be ashamed of yourself. Shouldn't you be on an Indian blog criticizing them for taking all your programming jobs?
ReplyDeleteZeinobia: "I do not think that you have a complete picture or have knowledge or political or social history to throw charges like that."
ReplyDeleteOf course I don't. But I can clearly recall reading Egyptian blogs back in 2005 where the very same Kefaya supporters who were bitching and moaning about the US not turning on Mubarak were at the very same time trying to get the Muslim Brotherhood to come out on the streets to back them up. And I can recall at one of the Kefaya protests a woman who was photographed being harassed by police was interviewed, and she said that she'd just gotten back from Iraq. Where she'd gone to help kill American troops. Is that your "opposition", Zeinobia? It would appear so based on all the bashing of the US you do on this blog.
I do thank you for replying to me, though :)
Hazem: "So that makes you a perfect candidate as an opposition since you are sufficiently xenophobic and you are good at it."
I'd make a hell of an "opposition" guy, Hazem. Unfortunately for you I'm loyal to my country which isn't Egypt, so you'll have to find some Egyptians who aren't a waste of oxygen to take up the fight. I'd wish you luck with that, but in truth I hope you fail.
Hazem: "Man you should be ashamed of yourself. Shouldn't you be on an Indian blog criticizing them for taking all your programming jobs? "
Programming jobs? lol. No. They aren't taking all our programming jobs. Shouldn't you be on Indian blogs criticizing them for taking all your ditch-digging and nail-hammering jobs in Saudi Arabia though?
