It seems the Egyptian bloggers are not leading the change in their country only but also the Saudi bloggers have their share too.
Blogging opened a new vent to Saudis to express themselves in a country and society that are from the oldest dictatorships in the Arab world.
I think blogging came in the right time for Saudi younger generations just like us , a new vent especially for the young ladies.
I will not going to speak more but I mention a little incident that shows that blogging can do something , can reach something socially.
There is a Saudi female blogger called Hadeel , a novelist who is popular among the Saudi blogsphere ,this young lady from 10 days ago became very ill and entered a coma suddenly , her father the writer Mohamed El-Khadeif called the Saudi Red Crescent ambulance ,the medics told him that she should immediately enter a hospital to the Intensive Care, they took her to several governmental hospital that refused to take her in either because there was no place for her or because they do not know her condition !!
The Saudi bloggers in their blogs and forums started a campaign to save Hadeel's life.
Thank God the campaign made something when some VIP "from the Royal Family" interfered and Hadeel was transferred to King Fahad medical city.
Now this shows that Bloggers began to make something in their community , it does not have to be a political or social revolution but helping in saving someone life like this should be recorded
Now this story shows you that there is something wrong in Saudi health care system because if Hadeel was a regular Saudi girl who is not a novelist nor a blogger and her father was regular , no body would have known about her case and she could have died .
In a civilized democratic country , the heads of the hospitals that refused to receive Hadeel should be fired
What the Saudi bloggers did to Hadeel comes after what they did to Fouad El-Farahan whom they stood beside till he was freed.
In end I pray to Allah the merciful to help Hadeel and her family and that Hadeel insh Allah will wake up from her coma , return back to her family ,her friends, her fans and her blog .
