ReplyDeletei told you.....what's worse id the person behind him is farrrrr behind.
ReplyDeleteis it true that moofeed fawzy might get farouk's old job?
Its all about politics and if Israel decided not to use its influence to fight him (why not hes been giving concessions like there is no tomorrow) and the US is also backing out, he will probably win. To be honest I'm not sure how I feel about him heading UNESCO. I completely understand and agree with most of what's been said against him but Im also thinking is the devil you know better? In other words, may be a UNESCO headed by someone form a developing country is better even if that someone hasnt been that amazing in his local position?
ReplyDelete@Pax Machine , actually it is first time I hear Mofid is a candidate for this position , I heard couple of names I will share it with you soon insh Allah.
ReplyDelete@anonymous, I look to the UNESCO as a reward for him and he does not deserve it at
Zeinobia: ITA agree that the support the entire regime threw behind him is a reward for his services to the regime and likewise I dnt think he deserves it. However, my point remains is he the best of all the devils waiting to jump on that seat? I dont believe there is much fairness in the way any of the top jobs in the UN orgs are filled. Its mostly politics & connections and very little regard is given to what that person will actually offer. I am also one of those who believe and based on accounts from personal family friends working there that the experience of Butros Ghali in the UN was to a great extent a disaster and if any thing it misrepresented his county of origin. So, whether or not Hosni can do good, I guess well have to wait and see, if he wins that it
ReplyDeleteAs for the mofied faouzy rumor, youve got to be kidding. Why do we even need a ministry of culture? Can you please share the rumored candidates with us?
