President Mubarak himself raised the topic of garbage in Giza aka the Giza Garbage crisis in his last meeting with the cabinet . For weeks now there are hills of garbage in Giza governorate street which are growing to be new pyramids from another kind. It seems that there is a fight between that foreign garbage collection company “I do not know Spanish or Italian” and the governorate over money and as usual the citizens are the ones who are paying.
It is well known that government collects fees monthly for collecting garbage and those fees are added to the electricity bills and so as the citizens did not have this service for nearly a month why do they have to pay it ??
Seriously I am calling the Giza citizens not to pay the garbage collection fees for that period , in fact if the governorate reaches to a solution to this crisis it should not take money from the citizens for a period equal to the one garbage was accumulating like the pyramids !!
Citizens of Giza do not pay for a service you do not receive , it is your right.
I wonder if the people out near Sakkara who also pay electricity bills are being charged for garbage collection because no one out there collects the garbage... Do they have a separate billing system for the rural areas that have no services or is it also tacked on. Hmmmm.
ReplyDelete@Maryanne, they are charged too , there was this huge debate about the use of collection these fees where as no one collect garbage
ReplyDeleteThey do not have a separate billing system , come on dear Maryanne you know hows things are in Egypt !!
