Ramadan's Arabian Night : The First Night aka The Tale of King Luqman "Ep.1& 2"

As I promised today there is a little surprise for those who follow the Arabian nights in Egyptian Chronicles, ladies and gentlemen I am honoured to present you the first night of the Arabian Nights Radio show.

Some of you may wonder why I did not post this on the first day of Ramadan and I will answer and say that I wanted you to taste the experience of these radio nights in a story we all know by heart, I do not know about you but I was listening like a child waiting for the end of the Aladdin tale from Mama Zozo !!

The first night from Dalziels' Illustrated Arabian Nights.
The first night from Dalziels' Illustrated Arabian Nights.

Anyhow, we move from Aladdin to the first night to where the nights started when Scheherazade this plan to tame Shahryar killing his rage and anger by wisdom saving the girls of her kingdom and later spreading justice in the kingdom.

Enough of talking, here you will find the first and second nights where Scheherazade attracted Shahryar and the whole world to her nights.

Enjoy them and after listening please come back to continue reading my post after the break.

Here is episode 1 :

Here is episode 2 :

First of all, for those who do not understand Arabic, I found the nearest translated tale in English to our tale tonight here: The story of the three apples.

There is a big difference though because here we got Harun El-Rashid himself as the king and not King Luqman. Taher Abu Fasha altered some of the tales to suit the audience, I think he did not want to associate with the real Harun El-Rashid.

Did you see how Scheherazade hit the iron when it was so hot and directly discussed the matter of infidelity in the second night she even showed in the end that the woman was innocent and despite the king blaming the slave and ordering his execution, her husband's anger and stupidity were the true murderers in the tale !!??

Did you see how she began to use the story within story technique to keep her man waiting for the end !!??
