Good evening,
Here we are back again with not only one night but rather four episodes of our Radio Arabian nights this year.
I did not publish any episode in the past three nights to mourn the Egyptian officers and soldiers who passed away due to the terrorist attack that took place on Thursday in North Sinai governorate’s city of Beir El-Abd.
It is the least I can do especially once again the Egyptian TV channels did not show any sign of mourning except showing that black ribbon on the side of the screen but the show went on.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time it has happened during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
I pray that it won’t happen again. May Allah bless their souls and the innocent souls that died in that ongoing war in North Sinai.
Anyhow once again we will escape from reality to fiction and imagination.
We will continue tonight our tale for this year, the tale of King Magedwon.
First of all, You can refresh your mind with what happened last night here.
Second, I would like to hint out that part of episode 8 of our tale is not complete. Yes, nearly half of the episode recording is not available online but fear not because we will know what happened in that lost part thanks to the amazing Scheherazade’s “Heard in the last episode” introduction in episode 9.
Evil Vizier Shamdwon tries to convince the High judge to reject the Bay’ah of King Magedwon to his son Prince Karim.
The vizier begins to ask why the Vizier wants this to happen and in the end, he tells him that Magedwon will die at any time and that his son was absent so he could not give him the Bay’ah.
“ When Magedwon calls you and the statesmen to Court, I want you to object and say that he can’t give the Bay’ah to his son because he is absent and I will stand against you” He told the judge adding that he would do so to win the trust of the King.
Just as wicked as the vizier, the High Judge asks Shamdwon that he will do what he wants as long as he gives him more money and keeps him as a High Judge when he becomes a King.
Meanwhile, Prince Karim begins his escape at the night in that desert from those evil two men who want to capture him for the sake of King Malis, his father’s worst enemy.
He heads to a cave to spend the night there but something happens there that once again will change his life.
In the next episode we will what happens to him.
I am kidding because there are tales without Jinn in the original book.
Now without further ado listen to the 741st episode in the Egyptian State’s One Thousand and One Nights or the 9th night in our tale for the year 2020, the tale of King Magedwon.
Meanwhile, King Magedwon tells his vizier that he is going to die the day after tomorrow according to the stars but Shamdwon who claims to be shocked tells him that it is untrue.
“That’s why I want to make the Bay’ah to my son Karim? Clueless Magedwon tells his vizier.
“My lord, give me the Kingdom and I will protect it till the return of his highness safely” Wicked Shamdwon tells him and the sad King buys that.
Back to that cave where the lawful Crown Prince Karim, we knew last night that when he tried to rest and lean on a rock, it was not a void then a rock.
It turns out that he leaned on something invisible or rather someone invisible and then a huge angry Jinn appears screaming at him “You break my son’s arm, I will kill you pathetic human”.
Yes, Poor Karim leaned on a toddler Jinn and do not ask how he broke his arm.
Not hearing his pleas and after those crazy days away from his home and his family, Karim tells the angry jinn to be his guest.
“ I miss my mother and Yasmine, I miss my father King Magedwon” Karim cries and the Jinn suddenly is shocked.
“You are the son of King Magedwon !! Magedwon who freed me from Solomon’s ring!? I owe my freedom to him” He tells Karim to show him his arm because the Magedwons have a birthmark in their arm to make sure that he is the son of the fair King.
Karim shows him the birthmark and the Jinn tells that he won’t harm him, in fact he tells that he grants a wish.
Karim wishes to return back home.
Sadly enough that’s the only wish he can’t grant to Karim from all the wishes in the world because that Jinn gave a holy oath to King Magedwon that he will never ever touch or come near his land.
Still, the Jinn and Karim agree on something in the Middle, he flies him to a ship near his dad’s kingdom and drops him into it. He also gives him a Seal of Solomon to summon him if he is in any trouble.
The Jinn tells Karim to jump into his shoulder and holds on strongly because he will fly. The Jinn flies and then drops into a shop in the middle of the sea as the sailors are more than amazed.
This will be another start in Karim’s wild adventure and in the next episode, we will know that it is not really a bon voyage.
The Jinn drops Karim into a ship in the sea near his father’s Kingdom but it is not like any ship. It is a pirate’s ship for Karim’s bad luck.
The sailors take Karim to their Capitan, Pirate Karameesh.
Karim tells Karameesh his story but the cruel captain does not believe him. He orders his men to take him in order to cut his hair and to torture so he can tell the truth.
Before taking him to the lower deck, Karameesh takes Karim’s ring without realizing his true powers.
Karameesh fears that Karim is a spy.
The pirate shares Karim’s story to his girlfriend Dalal.
Dalal goes on the dock to see what is happening while poor Karim is tortured, to tell the truth till he faints. Her boyfriend’s men awake him and wait her word to continue the torture.
Meanwhile back to Magedwon’s Kingdom, Vizier Shamdwon is still sad. He can’t Yasmine’s love as she still waits for the return of her prince.
Shamdwon’s wicked assistant Masood gives him an idea.
“You claim that Karim was found dead after his return to the Kingdom and you bury some dead man’s body instead of his; she will mourn and feel sad at first but then she will forget him later and you can win her love,” Evil Masood tells his master.
Shamdwon likes the idea.
In the next episode, we will know what our Prince will do in his misfortunate on the board of the Pirate’s ship.
Dalal stops the other pirates from torturing Karim ordering them to leave the place in order to interrogate him. Judging from his looks, the pirate’s girlfriend believes that he is from a noble background. She is attracted to him.
When he wakes up, she gives him water and asks him about his story.
Once again but this time in chains, he recounts his story and insists on his story.
“So why do not you summon the Jinn to save you ?” She asks Karim shocking him with another fact. That pirate ship he is currently on its board does not dock at any port.
Karim remembers his Seal of Solomon that Karameesh took it from him.
She tells him that Karameesh thinks that he is a spy working for a rival pirate.
Dalal decides to retrieve the magical ring but she is met by Karameesh who tells her that he decided to throw Karim from the ship to see if the jinn can help him.
Dalal stops him suggesting that Karim can work in cleaning the ship’s cabin.
Meanwhile, in Magedwon’s Kingdom, evil Shamdwon goes on with his plan to fake Karim’s death. It is announced that Karim is killed by King Milas and the whole Kingdom is sad over his death.
Shamdwon wants the names of those men helping Masood in their little plan allegedly to award them.
Back to the pirate ship, Dalal goes back to Karim and she tells him her tale. She was the only child of a famous merchant who used to own an armada of commercial ships. That merchant used to take her with him on every voyage so she would not be alone.
One day, Karameesh raided their ship and decided to kidnap her. “If I had not complied to his orders, he would have killed my father” She recounts who she ended up on a Pirate’s ship.
Karim sees the ring in her hand and before they continue chatting, Karameesh busts them together and he is very angry.
In the next episode, we will know what will happen to Dalal and Karim.
Karameesh is not angry because he busted them together but because it turned out that the ship of his rival Bassoos is attacking him. Karameesh wants Dalal and Karim to fight with the rest of them men
It is a classical pirate vs. pirate battle now on the deck of both ships, Karim and Dalal try to avoid the fight. Yet, an arrow plunges into Dalal killing her.
Karim takes back the Solomon seal and says its magic words.
The Jinn appears and he orders him to take him anymore but the ship and Jinn tells him to get on his shoulder because they will travel away.
While flying, Karim drops the Solomon seal into the sea which means the Jinn is free but he won’t let him down now.
He will drop Magedwon’s son at El-Bal Kingdom with the city of the domes.
Karim falls into the house of Salem and Sabbouh, another odd couple of an old merchant and his rude wife.
Sabbouh has an eye on Karim who does not tell them the truth about his identity. Presenting himself as stranger and traveller, he spends a couple of days with them.
Karim’s mother and Yasmine mourn Karim fake death. His mother expressed her sadness that she could not see her son for one more last time before his burial and the wicked vizier who became a ruler now says it was for her own sake.
Shamdwon orders the arrest to Massoud and his men but Massoud requests to meet his boss.
Tomorrow night what will happen between Shamdwon and Massoud.
