It is a new week under the Coronavirus in Egypt.
It is the second week of Ramadan and we are entering it after breaking, unfortunately, a record in the daily number of Coronavirus infections registered officially nationwide.
In one week we jumped from 4534 total number of patients on 26 April 2020 to 5895 on 1 May 2020. The number speaks about something to worry about in a country like Egypt.
Egypt’s health minister said 34 fever and chest hospitals are being prepared nationwide to receive Coronavirus patients for treatment.
There is also news that starting this week, the mild Coronavirus patients will be treated at home instead of hostels or hospitals.
It was reportedly announced on Egyptian State TV but I have not seen an official statement issued by the health ministry about.
The ministry denied the news and described the report as catastrophic and dangerous.
Again it will be a critical week if the number of people infected by Coronavirus increases rapidly like that.
Personally, I believe we need completely lockdown and curfew to slow down the rate.
Unfortunately, it seems that we are going in the other direction.
