Remembering Srebrenica

14 years have passed on the Srebrenica massacre or rather genocide , Srebrenica is considered  in Europe the largest and worst mass murder in Europe since WWII , more than 8000 men and boys were killed on ethnic basis. Every year on that particular day on the 11th of July another 500 coffins indentified by the international commission for missing persons through the DNA and other evidences will be bury by their relatives in a mass cemetery holding the victims of Srebrenica in a mourning celebration that re-opens wounds that never heal.

To this day only 6,186 of the massacre victims have be indentified only !!

These are couple of  photos from the anniversary today , you will parents crying their sons and you will find sons crying their dads, you will find children who were not born yet watching their history in wonder and may be also in a hidden fear whether it would happen again or not.

Ironically last time I checked the facebook was blocked in Syria for fear the Israeli influence on the Syrian youth ??!!

Seriously does Syria plans to lift the ban on the world famous social network or Bashar has fans outside Syria only !!?? I do not think that this is an official page , an official page will be open for everyone ; this is just a fan page like Hosni Mubarak fan pages here and there “Is Sufi a bad thing now !!”

Wow Officially Our Regime Can Apologize for Torture After All !!

So officially our diplomatic mission Jakarta had to apologize for the arrest and torture of 4 Indonesian students , of course I assume that part of the apologize to keep things quiet no need for lawsuits ..etc.

I hope one day the Egyptian government would be kind enough to apologize in the same way to its citizens in the same way for the arrest and torture in police stations !!

Do we have to be foreign to receive an apology !!??

Back to the Indonesian students I hope that the officers behind this mistake are punished and fired for causing a diplomatic crisis with a friend country !!

I want them out of the service because if they did all that to 4 Indonesian students then they probably had done arrested and tortured 40 or even 400 Egyptians !!

Does Not Need Too Much Brain

Last week I was surprised at how our press , the unofficial press  of course kept speaking about Israeli tabloid Maariv’s report regarding Mubarak’s succession scenario. “ Here is the English translation ,it is so bad from Google translation.

It is about how the Israeli officials concerned about the health of Mubarak and his succession. Now as I said most of our unofficial online and offline press kept speaking about this report as if it is a new thing , a new revelation !!! 

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will not complete his current presidential term, but will rather retire beforehand and will try to transfer power to his son Gamal. This is the prevalent opinion among intelligence officials in Israel, which they voiced in discussions held recently on the future of the regime in Cairo.

Maariv did not say something new , this scenario is well known to everyone in Egypt ,for God sake I do not work in a secret service or a political analyst but I wrote what they published from a week ago !! I do not know what the fuss every time an Israeli newspaper publishes something about Egypt !! How many times already our local newspapers published this scenario !!??

This report is only important because it shows how the Israeli officials are concerned despite I do not know why Gamal Mubarak is just like his father and even worse concerning the neutralization of the relations.Still it seems that for outsiders working in secret service Gamal Mubarak is not in full control and this is why they are concerned.

I believe Gamal Mubarak just like them is not in full control despite the fact that he is currently rules country at least economic and politically ,he does not have a full control on the army or the intelligence and they is why they are concerned.

The German Embassy in Cairo Mourns Dr.Marwa

First of all it seems that if it were not for the angry protests in Cairo and Alex the Western media would not give attention to late Dr. Marwa awful murder.

Not only the Western media but also the German officials , the German chancellor met Mubarak and discussed the matter with him . I know that the German officials do not give a damn for our officials’ reactions but they care for the public reaction , the anger.

To be honest I respect what Ambassador Erbel had done in the last week , I believe the man  has not faced something a crisis like this before in this way. He met with Marwa’s family to present his official condolence and before that he was among the first recipients of Marwa in Cairo airport.

Today in Al Ahram’s weekly Friday issue “which has the highest readership” the Germany Embassy in Egypt published an obituary mourning Dr. Marwa.  

The embassy official website in Cairo also published a press statements from both Ambassador Erbel and Dresden Prime minister of Saxony Tillich

In an interview with Al Arabiya channel Marwa’s father refused that the crime would be used in a counter violence against the west. This is so true because some radicals from both sides are using the incident to widen the gap between the Muslims and Europe. I believe we should be logic in our anger.

Breaking News : Egyptian Ambassador to Poland detained

We need confirmation for this news from Poland as soon as possible with more details , of course the news says that he was detained in Cairo !!

• The Egyptian Foreign ministry has denied news later today saying that Ambassador Fiyad was not detained but he rather helped the Polish authorities to arrest those two lawyers, the spokesperson of the ministry added that the agency that published the news has apologized officially

Egypt succession battle heats up Online and Offline

Please read this very interesting feature from Monsters and Critics by Nehal El-Sherif, already I wanted to write something similar for two weeks but I have not got time for that yet it is never too late. For sure that thing in the air about the succession scenario lately is felt by many people inside and outside Egypt. Last month several weekly newspapers like Al-Arabi,Sawt Al Oma and Al Dostor weekly edition.
It is not about Gamal Mubarak only but his rivals or those we considered as rivals above them of course Omar Soliman
Al Dostor weekly edition last month made two pages special coverage about the silent general whom I discovered only from the newspaper that some people made a fan blog for him  and that there is a facebook group supporting our Chief spy who has not hinted or showed any interest from near or far that he wants to be the President unlike Gamal Mubarak!!

Again people if Mubarak felt that Soliman wants to rule after him ,he would not let him stay for one second in his place.
Of course there are lots and lots of question regarding those who are behind the blog , who are they ??
Most if not all the young political powers in Egypt whether 6th April youth or Kafiya or MBs or the socialists consider Soliman to be another Mubarak regime icon that should not rule Egypt.
Back to the blog , I hope someone tells me who is behind it , for sure it is not the GIS. By the way there are about 4 facebook groups supporting Soliman , of course Gamal Mubarak beats him in the facebook battle.
Gamal will win him because currently the NDP launched a counter attack on the facebook with several groups against the opposition groups there, I will not be surprised to find him on twitter soon enough especially with the increasing number of Arab celeb twitters only from the ruling class.
There is no doubt that those Pro-Gamal facebook pathetic and comic groups were made by the NDP and the future foundation members are programmed to support Gamal Mubarak till the end. The most famous group among all Pro-GM groups which frequently mentioned in press is " The lovers,supporters and lovers of Gamal Mubarak " {yes two synonyms in Arabic , may be they want to prove their love over and over!! }. The group is the biggest among the Pro-GM groups with 3,236 members who are saying yes for the son.
This shows how close minded the NDP is , they think that by joining the facebook they can conquer the opposition and those who refuse Gamal Mubarak in the facebook , they do not understand that the groups in the facebook is just an online manifestation for our refusal to have Gamal as a president.
I know the majority of the Egyptian people are silent , it is bad for sure but this does not mean they are accepting the rule inheritance on the contrary, in most of conversations I hear and I attend most people feel that GM will be our president but they are speaking it in a negative way , in a hatred and rejection. Passive rejection as usual but it is still rejection.

H1N1 Follow Up : 8 in 1 day !!

The ministry of health has announced that it discovered 8 new H1N1 cases in Egypt and thus our infection toll reached to 90 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 of the 8 cases came from abroad carrying the virus

2 cases “ an Egyptian girl , 9 years old” and “an Egyptian young man ,29 years old” did not come from abroad.

Most of the cases this time had previous contact with infected cases before which is alarming.

One of the case “8 years old boy” came back from Saudi Arabia after the Omra.

The ministry of health in Egypt wants to limit Omra and Hajj just like Saudi Arabia , no elderly or pregnant women or children , I agree with them especially after the mentioned above case.

Now we moved to Palestine

The Palestinian ministry of health has announced that there are new 4 new H1N1 cases in the territories , the infection toll in Palestine has reached to 75 accordingly.

He Was Not The Vice President Then

The Arabic Media in the past 2 days kept speaking about the so-called confession of Saddam Hussein to the FBI as if they were new historical revelations we do not know.

Most Egyptian media focused on what the Iraqi former President had said regarding the Iraqi military participation in Youm Kippur War 1973,  the Iraqi forces just like other Arabic forces had joined Syria and Egypt in their quest to return their land in 1973. Iraq joined on both fronts but on the Syrian front more than the Egyptian front. Now this is not my issue here , Saddam and the FBI can’t see what ever they want but there is one point I am amazed most our media is neglecting.

Among the so-called confession is how Vice President Mubarak in 1973 went to Iraq to ask for air forces aid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hosni Mubarak was not a vice president then !! He was chosen in 1975 for God Sake !!!

I am stunned at how our newspapers and e-newspapers publish the news as it is without correcting it or even adding a note concerning this historical mistake.

The Uighur Anger is Under Control For Now

First of all here are some few images from the Boston Globe, there are not too many like the photos from Iran , already some of them are from the Chinese official news agency that describes the angry Uighurs as thugs. Now the city of Urumqi is under control , well it should be under control with all these forces in the city !!

What is happening in China is very serious because it shows how regimes can crack down revolts using IT and propaganda and how suppressive regimes enrich the sectarian and ethnic division in the country in order to control.

Since day one the official media and also the unofficial media in China have enriched the ethnic division , now it became the Uighur Vs. the Han , making the majority of the Chinese people angry from the Uighurs supporting the regime’s actions against them. I do not have doubt that the Han mobs taking down the streets in the province were encouraged by the regime , letting them to do the dirty work in order to make a legal reason to interfere.

Strangely the Islamic world is watching as usually, of course I must mention that the only reaction I heard was from the OIC , it is not bad but it could be better especially that China’s Islamic partners are not weak or poor speaking from the economic point of view or even from the Political point of view.

I want to add something , it is not because the Uighurs are Muslims I am standing with them only but the facts that they suffered a lot under the Chinese rule and the Chinese regime is just another big lying dictatorship make me support them as much as I can.

I know that as a minority in a world power that stands in front of the United States ,the US is using them just like the Tibetans to weaken China , but let’s agree on something , if China did not oppress those minorities from a long time , they would not seek the support of its enemies.

Again China has learnt the lesson of Iran and sealed the city , unlike to some believe this shows that Iran used to enjoy more democracy than China ,

I recommend you to read this article from the Guardian by Tania Branigan who is China correspondent for the British newspaper, I really admire the work of Tania in Urumqi.

The Chinese president had to leave the G8 Summit to stay in his country to follow the situation ¨which shows you that it is a simple tension but rather a serious one that requires the President to be the country¨.

Unsurprisingly Russia considers what happened was an internal affair of China.

There was a protest in front of the embassy of Germany in Cairo from two days ago in solidarity with Dr. Marwa, I believe we should protest in front of the embassy of China too in solidarity with the Uighurs , those protesters who care for Islam and Muslims in Europe should not forget about the Muslims in China !! If We are going to boycott the German products,then we should boycott the Chinese products as well !!

H1N1 Follow Up : No.80

The ministry of health has announced a new H1N1 case in Egypt and thus our H1N1 infection toll has reached to 80 cases.
The latest case was for a British student visiting Egypt with her family , she was discovered in Luxor , she had a contact with one of the previous case.
The ministry of health has announced good news that the 68 H1N1 cases have recovered since the entry of the virus to Egypt where as there are still 12 cases in the hospital treated and all are fine and stable.
By the way Morocco denied the news that it would cancel Omra this year for fear an outbreak. Already Tunisia canceled Omra and Hajj according to the news.

Update :

• The ministry of health has announced later today that 2 cases were discovered later ,so the infection toll has raised to 82

A New Diplomatic Crisis in the Way between Egypt and Indonesia

It is Never Too Late to Look How the 6th October bridge Was Empty During the Obama’s Visit

Seriously it is never too late , already this is from the rarest moments where this bridge is empty like that.

These photos were taken from one of the building which is overlooking 6th October bridge at Nile street in Al Agouza ,Giza before Obama’s convey and during the Obama’s convoy passing by. Obama was on his way to Al Jazeera club in Zamalak island to change his clothes and take his helicopter to the pyramids.

By the way the monthly Egyptian A-Class Lifestyle magazines which mostly are published in English language are more than crazy for Obama in a way that I have not seen it , may be because I find it a little absurd for magazines that do not even reach to the level of Vanity fair nor Vogue either to speak about Obama’s speech politically !! I swear if they speak about how elegant or sporty he was it would be better.

Strangely enough Michelle Obama do not wear from the expensive brands they show in these magazines ……..!!

The Uyghur Revolt

Thanks to the China great wall the whole world does not have an idea about what currently is happening in Xinjiang except that over 156 were killed in the past two days "according to the latest numbers coming from China officially" and thousands were injured and arrested in the protests of Uyghurs.

It is much more worse than Iran and what is happening there is even more dangerous than Iran because we are speaking about a political regime that is more suppressive and violent than the Iranian regime.
I was trying to follow the news coming from China but the video and photos coming from there are too few comparing with Iran , the other videos I found were either in Chinese or pro-Chinese with ugly comments

The Uyghurs are Muslim minority in China, they are considered one of the biggest ethnic groups in China.
Already Xinjiang is a very rich area in Oil besides other other resources.It seems that there is a lot tension between the Han Chinese and Uyghur Chinese , already the Uyghurs want to have their own independence.The current uprising revealed an ugly face of Islamophobia with my respect in China , I am reading ugly racist comments in youtube that made me so sick.

• This is why we can't know what is happening China has cut off internet access in Xinjiang and blocked Twitter nationwide !!
• Also interestingly enough Google news and Youtube are blocked too now !! I will not be surprised to know all those Youtube uploaders are from the government.
  

Meanwhile in Egypt

Meanwhile in Egypt an Israeli nuclear sub has crossed the Suez Canal twice in a show move to Iran “as if they really care , the US army is surrounding them and they do not care !!” which is more of a provocative move to the Egyptian people.

What price did Mubarak get for this ?? I am not speaking about the so-called $150,000 the Israeli Navy paid to the Suez Canal !! I am speaking about the real price.

I am so angry.
