Local Water Wars in Egypt

The Summer is here and the water shortage crisis in the country of the Nile has started. I can't believe it , now there are local water wars ,really water wars in Egypt.People now are fighting over water. The villagers from Dakahlia and Kafr El-Sheikh Governates are fighting over irrigation water , irrigation water is just like drinking water for those villagers , it is the basis of their living .
Why they are fighting , why are there water wars ?? because Water became scarce , why ?? because of the consumption of water in useless projects like Golf courts and swimming pools , not because of having babies.
It crossed the lines of water shortage protests.
This is another achievement of President Mubarak and his policy , people are fighting over water in the land of the Nile !!?

  1. 1st of all i agree with you that it's a big problem and yet again a new failure for the governoment policy
but i would like to note to the point of
( egypt , the land of the nile )
actually the person's share of water in egypt is only 750 cubic meter/year , that is pretty low if compared with other countries like china ( 1760 cubic meter/year ) almost the double !
that's why we need to use this little that we have very wisely , golf courts and swimming pools must be firmly delt with and also that's a reason why our huge population is not a bless , and birth control programs should be activated asap .

  2. @3al Bab Allah ,your irrigation policies need to be revised , do not plan to have unneeded rice fields that consume huge amount of water,it is planning issue , the birth control programs can not simply impose on the people like in China , already I read that they are going to revise it there
It is the planning and allocation problem , if you have better planning , better implementation and allocation you will not suffer from resources shortage
