Incomprehensible. Congratulations many, many times. You have left an Egypt-shaped hole in the geopolitical discourse. World has seen nothing like it since 1989.
February 11, 2011- The emancipation of Egypt! we all cry from joy and don't forget that these were long and hard 18 days.... the world celebrates with you Egypt!
As a Turk, I congragulate the Egyptian people for their struggle and courage to gain their freedom.
I hope that this freedom will not be again stolen by any group under the pretext of democracy.
That's what happened in Turkey. Islamist got the power and thousand of people are in jail for many years waiting to be tries for made up crimes by the security apparatus of ruling AKP party.
I'm spanish and there are tears in my eyes too, grateful for your tweets and congratulations to the exemplary Egyptian People. Never been so hooked on my laptop!
CONGRATULATIONS EGYPT!!! YOU GUYS DID IT!! I'm an Australian who has been glued to Al jazeera, twitter and blogs for weeks now - and so proud for you. You make the world proud , you guys, all of you have started a new era!!!
I am envious of you; and with all my heart I pray your country will not end up where mine did, EXACTLY 32 years ago, this day. I pray your celebration last. And I hope Egypt will set an example not only for people of the middle east, but also for the rulers of the middle east. Our rulers, after 18 months, are still killing and jailing and beatings and ...
Al ham du li Allah, you all, our youth and our people deserve a big hug. Unforunately I am not in Cairo to celebrate with you, but I was praying this afternoon in Haram looking at Kabaa and praying for our country's freedom . Al ham du li Allah, my prayers and all mothers' prayers have been answered and by Allah's protection and guidance we will succeed.
Hi ! I have just learned it by the news Congratulations ! I'm happy for the Egyption people ! Maybe your future prosperous and peacefull for all of you and " I really hope it" Welcome to Democracy ! Free Maghreb !
Only nine days after the 'bloody Wednesday' the Egyptian people have won. "Leave, leave" they chanted for days on end and the hated dictator today finally has resigned, his henchmen Soliman is out of power and the people are dancing and singing on the streets of Cairo, Alexandria and all over Egypt. After the fall of the Berlin Wall this no doubt is the second major historical change to witness in the world since the last decades. And the world is elated. Where the dreaded regime only last week showed ruthless brutality, the Egyptian people have won the battle with an undeterred will for non-violence. If anything, Egypt has shown to the whole world what powers lie in a peaceful revolution - and that it can be done, if you want it to happen. Congratulations Egypt! You must be the proudest people in the world tonight.
The party in Tahrir Square looks like it will last until daybreak. You Egyptians can be party animals when you have a reason, apparently.
I join the Iranian and the Turk above in warning you to not to let your freedom be stolen by those whose only want democracy as a tool to gain permanent power. Beware! There are factions in Egypt who will eat young educated secularists like you for breakfast if they have the chance. You know who I'm talking about.
Secure all the records of the Ministry of the Interior right away. The Stasi in East Germany had shocking records. You will need the MoI files to prosecute Mubarak's thugs and torturers.
Congratulations and enjoy your well-earned festivities.
besides Al-Jazeera your blog was one of my sources to follow the Egyptian revolution. You and all the young Egyptians in Tahriir square have liberated Egypt. Mabrouk. and best wishes from Canada.
Thankyou Tunisia, thanks to our Tunisian brothers and sisters. We will not forget our martyrs whether in Egypt or Tunisia. Jason, Naj and the other Hasbara troll appearing as an Iranian: you can all SMD
Algerians, it's your turn now you have no excuse, for further details please refer to the Tunisian manuals: 1- how to break down the police in 24 hours 2- Bring down a tyrant in 30 days or less (available in Arabic, French and English)a pdf version is also available on request.
Tomorrow we hope the Algerian revolution ignites. Good luck North Africa.
Dear people of Egypt. I'm very happy for the victory. And I hope that democracy is born in Egypt. You are to be congratulated for having walked for peace. And I hope you remember the people who died in conflicts. My suggestion is that you build a park named Park of Democracy. And you plant a fruit tree in that park for each person killed in the clashes. This is a way to honor the victims and to show future generations that we can change the world without wars. I wish much peace to you.
Alf Mambrouk. My husband and I were so happy that finally the day came for Egypt and Egyptians to have freedom and fresh air to breath! We were there in front of our TV from the 1st day until the end everyday from morning till 5.00 am (after Anderson Cooper 360 show) and we were there to see the sufferings and how tough was it for the Egyptians fighting for their rights with their lives and how they have to sleep in those cold weather in open air! My husband and I remembered screaming and cried watching the attacked which started on the 8th day at midnight until 5.00 am @ Medan Tahrir and remembered calling the White House for help to intervene and writing emails to UN and facebook asking for help coz We cant bear to see the thugs killing and attacking innocent lives just because they were asking for freedom! and today when we were watching CNN showing the 6th Oct. bridge it brought back those horrified attacked on that day and how different was it today with all the cars hon-kings and huge crowd of people cheering and celebrating the new life of freedom. My husband and I believe that Egypt will be a better country free of corruption and better future for all. We will always remembered the martyrs, those injured, jailed, the youngs and old, women and children who fights without fear and the doctors working day and night during this cause of freedom. They are all heroes!
Oh Egypt Peace be unto you, I salute you my Country If Time throws its arrows onto you, My heart shields you Oh Egypt Peace be unto you all the time
Towards Supremacy Sons of Egypt, In Egypt we own our future And sacrifice to our Egypt, Without you life has no meaning My left side of chest is where my heart resides, and My country is my right side heart Oh Egypt Peace be unto you, I salut you my homeland If Time throws its arrows onto you, My heart shields you Oh Egypt Peace be unto you all the time
