Ramadan Arabian Nights 2019 : King Haras Episode 9 "Sawsan and the King"

Good evening or Good afternoon or Good morning where ever you are now and reading this post.
Tonight we will continue our second tale for this year, the tale of King Haras.
To refresh your memory and to know where we stopped, I recommend you go back and hear last night’s episode.

Now without further ado, you can hear the ninth episode or episode no.188 of the Egyptian State Radio’s One Thousand and One Nights show in Arabic after the break.

The king orders his guards to bring to him Noman’s horse and he orders Noman to summon that dervish that turned in to a human again using a magical ring the old man gave it to him already.

The horse is brought and the Dervish finds himself in the court of the king who orders him to make Sawsan returns to her human form.
A king and a vizier
A king and a vizier

The Dervish does what the king orders him and Sawsan is a human again.

The king wants to know her story and her Ghoul partner but she refuses.
She is tortured and yet she refuses to say anything
In the end, the king orders his guards to behead her.
He tells Noman to return back to the Morgan island and marry a new wife.
He then orders his guards to bring him the blind beggar.
He orders the palace to give the beggar monthly allowance ordering him not to let the people hit him again.
The night is not over because the king wants to know the story of that palace owner that kicked him and his vizier after generously hosting them for dinner.

Tomorrow night we will know if they manage to know the story behind that palace owner or not.
Now a little hint, the tale of Noman was also originally from The One Thousands and One nights book. Unfortunately, I can’t find its correct name in the Arabic version but it is included in Andrew Lang’s The Arabian Nights’ Entertainments.

The tale is named The story of Sidi-Nouman and the King was actually Caliph Haroun al-Rashid.
