Another belated post for an annual cheerful event that reminds us of the good spring breeze in those very hot days in Egypt and the world.
It is time for Kodak Agfa’s annual Spring Flowers fair post and this year it was during the
Constitutional amendments referendum.
I remember that I visited the Orman spring Flowers Fair last years during
the Presidential elections too.

I did not stay too long but it was a good time and break.

Held at
Orman Botanical Garden starting from 21 March from every year, it became one of the main beautiful annual events in the country.
This was the 86th session of the Flowers Fair and Unfortunately, the government fails to promote it as a tourist attraction event despite I see foreigners, mostly from expats every year now.
Also, it is sad to know that the government is not promoting Orman botanical Garden as a tourist attraction itself for plants lovers.
We are speaking about one of the biggest and oldest public parks in Africa and the Middle East that hosts plants from outside the continent for over 100 years now like that this beautiful Mexican Shaving brush tree.

I feel sad that this is the first time the shaving brush tree caught my eyes. Zoom in to see how that tree's blossoming flower looks truly like a shaving brush.
There are also
Brazilian Queen palm trees standing high in the heart of Egypt’s Giza all that time and we are just speaking about the tip of the iceberg there aside from the fair.

Back to the fair.
I remember I saw more people who went the fair genuinely those who went to polling stations on that day, which is a natural thing.
It was a weekday, there was a huge turnover like in Weekends as I have once seen before but still more genuinely than in polling stations.

Visitors inside the Flowers fair |
It still attracts families, couples and singles as usual. Youth and elderly who want to breathe a nice and a clean spring breeze in the crowded Great Cairo area still head there.

There were lots of students coming from the neighbor Cairo university especially girls looking for some breeze and nice selfies and photos to remember.

I love seeing old couples in the fair.
|
I love how that the wheelchair did not stop her or her husband from coming together |
As well as babies and mothers in addition toddlers with mothers.

Aside from the customers and students looking for a nice photo, there were people celebrating their birthdays.
|
They were celebrating the birthday of someone with all the balloons and presents while a small tree was sold in that partition at the Spring Flowers fair |
There were also those amateur photographers holding photo sessions for their friends.

Some of them hold special photo sessions for their friends and their friends' significant other.

This young man used his mobile phone to photograph that cute couple |
I took a couple of photos for them at the same time their friend did and actually they were not bothered.

Another shot for the young couple, another pose |
According to the news reports, one million visitors paid a visit for this year’s flowers fair.

There were 180 landscape companies, nurseries and government organizations participating in the 2019 version of the fair.

Some of those exhibitors have become original participants that did not change their locations in the fair nor their exhibits whether flowers or cacti or trees or plants.

I might have stayed for a short time in the fair this year but I took a couple of nice photos for beautiful flowers, roses and cacti. You can see the rest of
the album on Flickr.
