The Coca Cola easy twist off cap Cinema ad is making headlines unexpectedly not in Egyptian blogs but in American blogs to be specific LBGT blogs and even political blogs written by gays.
The Coca Cola Cinema ad was part of the Coca cola summer campaign during the CAN 2010 with the launch of their new easy twist off cap bottles in the market. There were about 6 ads in this campaign which I believe was funny and catchy. I saw this ad and I did not see it slightly homoerotic from near or far , it does not send any message from any kind considering the whole campaign which depends on humor.
Gays like the guy in Yellow T-shirt fine , but claiming that this ad sends a message like that in a country like Egypt is another thing.
This can be very harmful to Coco Cola Egypt and I will not be surprised if Pepsi Egypt uses it to its own benefit , anyone works in advertising or marketing in Egypt knows how battles between these two are like.
Now it's on The Daily Beast

This Ad is becoming more popular in America than in Egypt.
I bet Coca-Cola will take it off the air. It would be very stupid if they didn't. It's already very stupid if they did this on purpose.
It has been already off the air for quite some time now , they are having this new Ramadan campaign now :S
ReplyDeleteu know it's like an American seeing two men or two women greeting each other the arab way by kissing in the cheeks u know it's normal for men to hold hands too...
