Who are you !!? Who are you for real !!?

In past 48 hours these videos below have become viral in Egypt more than Bassem Youssef , Monatov and Cassie Nabil’s videos all together. I think you know which two videos I am speaking about.

The hero Hatem El-Abadi , the first on his class at the air forces academy.

Former captain Sherif Othman who posted another video in his channel.
These two gentlemen are two former army officers who are attacking the armed forces council especially Tantawy accusing him of corruption. We were not sure of the identity of these men or where they were but then more info began to appear. They are calling the people to go to Tahrir today to join the officers in the “purifying the army Friday” !! Who said that today is the about the army !!? It is about prosecuting Mubarak as far as I know !!?  Already  I do not know what this Friday is being called honestly now.
When people suspected in the identity of El-Abadi , “Officers For revolution” FB page posted his photos and honestly I was amazed because they spoke about him as currently in the force , he could not be in the force and make that video !!?
El-Abedi decorated by Mubarak
They also published the photo of Othman wearing the overall.
Othman
Officers For revolution” FB Page was made by an anonymous group that claims to be officers who support the revolution and are against Tantawy and the armed forces council. The language used makes you feel that the whole army is against the council. Every Friday you find posts that the whole army will join the people at Tahrir and yet there is nothing !!
From two days we found a tweep replying on Nawara Negm’s tweet about the video telling her that his friend identified one of those two officers. One of these officers were fired from the army because he escaped to the States and he is not in the country !! So one of them is fired !!?
Then yesterday Belal Fadl discussed the matter openly when he spoke about the phone calls he got from PM Sharaf and general Mamdouh Shahin at Al Masry Al Yom.
I think even children know that the army council reached to an agreement with Mubarak to leave the rule despite the official denials. Still I see it now the army will sacrifice Mubarak and his family to save itself in front of the people’s anger. Later at El- Masry’s website we find news speaking that these two officers whether Othman or El-Abadi were fired from the army years ago for bad behavior.
Former air forces officer Hatem was fired in 2004 when he married a Belgian lady. He lives in Belgium where was granted political asylum while former air forces officer Sherif Othman was fired in 2006 when he did not return back from a military mission in the States for more than year !! He is married to an American lady as far as I understand which doubles his problems with the army.
Our army officers can’t marry foreign ladies and this since the revolution , just like our diplomats and judges. Most of AFC’s generals were appointed in their commanding positions after these two were outside the army and the country as well accordingly.
Of course after this revelation , I think the army will start to fight back fiercely , already  at the same night I found a video showing some photos for Othman partying with his American friends. Despite the photos are normal in the States yet in a country like Egypt it could be taken against him right away. I will not publish the video here because I do not care how he parties in Halloween.
I am careful in what I post in this blog because I know the former regime orphans want us to have clash with the army , also I do not want to spread any rumor that can cause panic. I know that I will be called all sorts of names because I am fully convinced with this unknown FB group and those so called officers tweeps that appeared from no where like “@Dabetgeesh”. You will wonder why and I will tell you.
I love facts and when these so-called free officers tweeps began to spread lies , I started to ask one question like Qaddafi “Who are you !!?”
  • Field marshal Tantawy was married to Safwat El-Sherif’s sister Huda !! Tantawy is married to a lady called Wagida and she is not related to Safwat from near or far. If you want more information about El-Sherif and his relation to the army , well you have to know that Safwat’s wife is the sister of Lt.General Salah El-Halaby , the former chief of staff. Rumor says that El-Halaby was removed from his position because of this relation , Mubarak was scared from coups and El-Halaby was popular during the Gulf war 2.
  • Another tweep claimed that Major Ahmed Shoman was being tortured at some hospital while Shoman has been fine and free since he was pardoned. He even spoke with Egyptian journalists Doaa Sultan “ a friend to his wife” and Nawara Negm when the rumor swapped the internet. He denied totally and despite he attacked Tantawy personally on air yet he refused to turn against him and the council now.
  • Hatem El-Abadi is still serving while it turned out officially he was fired and has not been living in Egypt since 2004 !! “He removed that tweet”
It is not a secret that Tantawy is not that popular yet this is too damn dangerous. The last thing I want in the country is a real coup that will bring us to God knows what. Again I am angry from the actions of the military police , its torture to civilians and its disgusting assault on female protesters. I know there is a corruption in the army just like any other army in the world when it comes to power and influence. Still I do not want our army issues to be solved in this way for other proposes. I am with the full accountability when it comes to every institution in the country above them the army but we will not be to do this in the right way now.
Again I do not considered Tantawy or Anan as the only players here , even those two men can’t and did not imagine that they would be in such position in this way even Anan. The armed forces council’s main problem I believe is realizing that it is now playing politics not war games , it is not longer above criticism as it used to be.
We have to understand that we are dealing with old generals who never though from one second in their lives that they will be in this place ruling a whole country like that !!?
It is not easy what we are doing , we are building our country and already we have got an edge over the army !!? Do you think these helicopters that used to take photos of Tahrir during the revolution were for nothing !!? The army and its generals , our junta are worried from the people and this is why every Wednesday and Thursday we find decisions and orders that should be taken from a week ago.
I will not deny that I am worried about the generals but I am scared from a coup that can bring me another Nasser , I can deal very well with Haydar Pasha and I think the Pashas are very smart in knowing what the people want but they just are too damn slow. I do not want other Abdel Hakim Amar and Salah Salem in control because last time we had them , we paid heavy price.
Now ABC Egyptian army : For 30 years Mubarak succeeded in isolating the army from our lives , we forgot how the tanks look like because simply the ex-president was scared from military parades because of karma. Dear friends army officers do not have internet access like we do in civilian life , they do not have mobile phones to speak with like we do. Their loyalty to their country and their commanders are holy one , breaking military orders and planning for coups lead to one thing : military tribunals , real military tribunals that end with firing squads. Military life is different than civilian life.
I do not know what is going to happen tomorrow insh Allah but I pray to God that whatever happens it will be the best for Egypt and Egyptians.

  2. I'm quite surprised about what you're saying here! You're just criticizing who they are and not what they are saying. When the media does the same about El-Baradei, you attack the media, but you are only acting the same way as the media (Which you attack). I'm quite surprised with this hypocrisy you've just shown!
Do you not think it is best to actually listen to what they are saying prior to judging them? I know one of them personally and I would like to tell you that they both left the army because they were very clever students that were always high graders but unfortunately due to that they haven't had the "wasta", they weren't given the right chances to get into high positions, or given any decent opportunities! This is the ex-regime's style that I'm sure you're aware of and they are both trying to fight this, and as the ex-regime would do, they'd attack who they are instead of responding to what they say. So, are you the old Egypt? Or, are you the new Egypt? Cause the old Egypt would have just done exactly the same like what you've just done now...
And guess what? The old Egyptian presenters, were all named and shamed!!! History is writing a lot now Ms Zenobia...

  3. Thank you, Zeinobia - the best would be to totally ignore those gross videos, maybe these weird officers will then stop making them!

  5. To be honest.... Even though I want clear validation of their claims... I do not trust Tantawy from the very first moment, along with his so called Supreme Council.

They are from the old system. I do not know... but I kinda believe those guys.

  6. Uneven disparity in the Egyptian Army ranks has been established from Nasser's time. Promotions, rewards and bonuses are given to those who have connections, are devoted to the establishment or self made through their own skills and smarts.
There is a very large number or lower ranking officers who are dissatisfied with the unfair treatment they receive and the corruption that goes on in the upper ranks. These are the the officers who sided with the people who went out to protest in the streets and threatened the army's upper brass against harming the people.
The military council is made up of very rich fat cats who work for themselves and have complete control over their secret budget, factories, expenditures, profit, businesses and organizations.
    Nobody oversees their balance sheets!
Sounds like another independent power center that needs to be accountable to the Egyptian people and dismantled.

  7. @Zenobia

As I told you before, the military institution is the worst institution you can imagine in Egypt, Police corruption is nothing compared to theirs.

I have some remarks concerning what you wrote:
    - a judge can marry a foreigner, and even have double nationality (please verify what you write, the Council of State gave a "fatwa" about this 5 years ago), I know several judges/prosecutors that have a foreign mother or a foreign wife.
    - army officers can marry a foreigner with the army's authorization (One of my friend is an army officer married to an american, and another married to a syrian)

If you dont want a new Nasser, then we shall not allow the army to decide as they want. Nasse was able to keep power because the State of Council and many people supported them at the beginning (when they needed their help the most); then they humiliated them (Sanhury, Muslim brothers,...)

Zenobia, please stop repeating what most people say about the double nationality issue, I know the law and the mechanisms in most institutions: except for diplomats, there is always a way to have the right to marry a foreigner.

The army is playing a game with the people as Nasser did, they play on their fear (they seem to win since you are affected by this game)

By the way, what war are you talking about?
Our army hasn't participated to a war since the 2nd Gulf war. Go to any military club or village on the sea to see how the army has its part of the country without doing anything (unlike the Police which had and still have a very important role in the public security)

I have been and am still a fan of your blog, my objective is to share my opinion with you. Please verify what you say before writing it (otherwise it would be like what some people used to say about ElBaradei concerning his nationality ...)

What is this bullshit? what planet are you living on? Mars? I have 4 friends who are army officers, 2 of them were in the UN peace keeping forces, they do have internet and they do have mobiles! want their numbers?

    you love facts?!

  9. How naïve, badly researched and manipulative this blogpost is? like some of the other commenters I have read you daily for years and this post has made me doubt the fact that I don't often question what you say. Z you didn't objectively discuss what these men said before you started speaking about firing squads! Your mentality has always given me hope for a better Egypt and now I have to say how honest is she and when people outside of her twitter blogging friends speak up she attacked them, you or I don't know what these men did for Egypt, so in the same way people haven't questioned your patriotism and have campaigned and supported Egyptian bloggers, you should either support peoples right to say as and when they want, what they want to say or you shouldn't harm them with your words!

  11. Those babies photos are shocking and the whole world have seen them, Shame on you all, shame on the ministers, doctors, and officials for getting away with this horrible treatment of these babies. One Officer boasted that there were not enough incubators in the hospital, what a silly explanation that is. Though you may not have enough incubators I see you have enough tanks and fighter aircraft in the hangers and costing thousands just to keep them flying for an hour at a time for no current reason, and yet the authorities dares to say there are not enough incubators for these babies, if the Egyptian army is now the custodian of democracy, then why dont they divert some funds and get some incubators right now, you can keep some F16 grounded for a few weeks and generate the funds.

  12. If Egypt asked nicely I bet The Zionist Entity would cheerfully donate some incubators.

  13. 1. I am shocked by some of your readers comments! Following your blog through the revolution was very informative and stuck to presenting your opinion who was well researched and based on facts that you listed. In fact, your blog is one of the very few English sites that speak from an Egyptian stand to the rest of the non-Arabic speaking people.
    2. I was in Tahrir Square yesterday, from what I saw most of the people asked those officers to step down off the stands and kept chanting the army and people are one hand.
    3. These officers in your video or in Tahrir, from their age or rank, are very young who did not serve for a long time in the army or attended any of its struggles, hardly to tip our hats for them.
    4. In my opinion, we are definitely allowed to criticize indviduals in the army, let it be Tantawy or others, this is the beauty of freedom (thanks to our revolution). But there is a difference between indvidual criticism and accusing the army (as an entity) of treason.
Again, thanks Z for your blog.
