Really sometimes I feel that we are in bless in Egypt compared to other countries for the Internet censorship , I mean comparing to country like Syria and the regime's decisions to limit the Internet usage or blogging to what the Egyptian regime's decisions then we are in heaven
I mean look to this decision the Syrian regime had taken , the translation says that "according to the Syrian ministry of Culture and telecommunication all the Syrian publishing sites must publish the complete names and emails of the writers and commenters ,if not then there will be a warning to the owner ,then there will be a temporarily withholding then complete withholding" !!
Wow it did not stop here as the minister of Culture and Telecommunication "I thought that they are separate ministries , I mean in most countries they are !!" defended his decision claiming it is for the protection of the country "of course" and reliability of the news ...bla bla bla
The minister said that the decision is not imposed on the blogs despite actually it is because many of the Syrian blogs I read and saw are political news ones, of course I don't need much brain to know that the actual blogs in Syria are always not as free or as critical as the blogs whose owners outside
Anyhow this minister is dreaming , I mean how on earth he will check this name or that email , it will take one hell of time
Ironically according to the Damascene blog most Syrian Websites like official SANA or semi-official Syria-News did not mention anything about the decision , in fact commenters in Syria-News still use fake names
This is so so stupid seriously ,anyhow for now on I am going to sign in the Syrian new Websites if I am going to comment as Zeinobia and my email is Zeinobia@palmrya.com and the authorities in Syria can check back my history
By the way I like the Syrian blogs so much , of course they are not so many like us , but I love reading them because I like the Syrians Arabic style "not the accent" but the style of Writing , their Arabic is not damaged like us
Amon all the Arab countries you got to be grateful that you are Egyptian. If I were not I would wish to
ReplyDeleteHonestly speaking Zeinobia, anonymous comments are unfair for both the readers and the blogger.
ReplyDeleteMany blogs have a policy of banning anonymous commentators. Especially that some become bvery brave only when they are nonymous:))
@Dr.SR,Long live Mustafa Kamal
ReplyDelete@Amre, don't disrespect others because they can not write their real names , I am sorry but most people in the Arab world do not live in a country like Sweden
you don't know what means to live in a country that do not allow freedom of expression
it is not about bravery ,it is about Safety

Babacan to be honest there are certain places in the world you must be anonymous if you want your opinion to be heard because you may not only endanger yourself ,but also your life
ReplyDeleteif anonymous commenting was so bad why websites like Global voices and reporters without boundaries have a special guide for anonymous blogging , it is not about the word anonymous , any person can use any name and you will think it is a bravery
