The Sony gallery for Photography At the AUC is hosting an Exhibit for the Saudi Photographer Reem Al Faisal currently.
The Exhibit is in the main building of the AUC open from the 25th of February to the 26th of March 2008 , you have a month now to catch this fantastic exhibit under the name "The Shape of Light"
Reem's photos are all Black and White , she plays with the shades creating a beautiful mix of scenery . Her photos are journey thought out the World from West to East to her own country Saudi Arabia capturing scenes from the most sacred and holiest places in the Muslim World "The Kabbah at Mecca and The Prophet's Mosque at Medinah"
She took photos from Ireland,Egypt,Syria,Japan,China,India and as I said KSA .
One of the most beautiful Photos I found was The dome of Prophet Mohammed's Mosque at Medinah, El-Saida Zeinab's Shrine at Syria , The inner hall of Hagia Sophia.
It is worth to mention that Reem is the grand daughter of King Faisal and The first secretary of Arab League Egyptian Azzam Pasha , she is a royalty and some how this gave her freedom to do what she loves more freely , Reem I think she is only professional woman Photographer in the Kingdom. I will not call her Princess because the world knows her as Reem Al-Faisal ,the artist photographer not the Royal celebrity
Well to tell the truth I respect her so much because she seems to be a person who does not want her Royal character to be the passport to success. She is impressive Saudi Example for Women .
I do not know why the Western media ignores her and Shades light on the weak Saudi women example ,yes I know that Reem is lucky for being a royalty still this lady must be respected .
If you are in Cairo and able to go to the AUC ,go and enjoy this small warm black and White Exhibit , If you are not in Cairo ,you still have the opportunity ,go online to her official Website , her website by the way includes more pictures than the exhibit
