Queen Zeinobia said so and Pervez Musharraf resigned accordingly , he resigned with his dignity because he knew very well it will be ugly to wait the parliament to get rid of him.
Musharraf is another example of how days can turn against a dictator supported by the U.S regardless of what he has given and what he can give to the U.S .
Musharraf is another classic example of a military dictator sold by the U.S ,just like the Shah.
I wish that * some people * really learn from this , may be they consider the Shah of Iran as a faraway memory but what about Musharraf !!
Here is a nice slide show from Time Magazine about Musharraf from his rise to his fall !!Also here is a nice list from the possible candidate for the next president’s position the Pakistan Policy blog , it is good to see that it includes women.
What I love in all this ,is that the people and the parties were the one who forced him to resign not the army and the fact that the army did its role in stepping away from this crisis is very promising

ReplyDeleteNext time try to get some insights from events scene rather than typical anti-us boo-hoo cliche's
Musharraf stepping will not be something to appause & shear for, just like iranian discovered after the ousted of Shah (mercy upon his soul)
we will see...we will see...
Are you missing Musharraf ??
ReplyDeleteIt is against the U.S because as far as I know the U.S wanted to him leave the presidency , I think that there is different between the current political system in Pakistan and the Islamic revolution in Iran
Yes things can be less stable in Pakistan but this is how it is used to be there ,still no one will miss Musharraf unlike the Shah
yes we will see
I will miss Musharaff so much, he managed to balance the factions inside the millitary & intelligence organization and the tension between the millitary & the radicals
ReplyDeletei don't care what US wants from musharaf, i am not sure they have clear view of what is in Pakistan, but thing can get messy, i don't trust that political factions in the country can make any good
NB. don't call me "dear" i hate this word & hate the people who use(d) it with me
ok anonymous , I will not call you dear , but was not in Musharraf era the American forces launched raids against Pakistani tribes !!?? was not it in his era radicalism exceeded in Pakistan ??
ReplyDeleteI will not speak about his dictatorship , I will not speak about his clash with the judges
may be you will miss him but for sure many will not miss him
no country can surely be so messed up it needs a dictator riding over all the laws and codes meant to keep him in check from becoming an inflated monster. but the fear of standing up against him and what chaos might some once he's gone is more effective than any army in keeping him on his throne. whatever the chaos, it's better than waiting for change until you forget to hope and believe it can be anything else but to live under a tyrant. and musharraf wasn't even that bad in the league of dictators.
ReplyDelete@Scribbled ,I think the Pakistanis are luckier than us then !!
