Follow Up : H5N1 Human Infection Case No.61

Today the ministry of health in Cairo announced the H5N1 human infection case No.61 in Egypt. 2 years old Mohamed El-Shahat Mohamed Hassan Amar was announced as H5N1 infected N.61. Mohamed is from Al-Bahaira in North Delta, he was infected through dead infected domestic poultry. He was discovered when he became very sick during visiting his grand parents in Monfia.

He was given Tamflu and currently is stable, insh Allah he will be cured soon.

  1. What happened in the suzan tamim case? Anyone convicted or is there still a publication ban?

  2. Zeinobia,

Hi. Thank you for the update. You have a great picture or icon on Twitter.

The young age of these children is distressing. Also, Indonesia is in my opinion still ground zero for bird flu or H5N1 not Egypt.

The health minister has Supari does not want to discuss it. There for ignorance remains and people do not know what they should and should not do.

India has been hit many times with H5N1 yet they have not had any infections.

    Kind regards,
