Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud needs your prayers now more than ever.
Dr. Mahmoud is very sick and currently in the incentive care unit of his hospital in Mohendessin. It is insulting that the media has ignored this man all that time till he became severely ill. I know that the man hated lights but this is too much , for God sake any lousy actor or footballer gets more attention !!??
The only time I saw him personally was at Metro market Gamat Al Doula where he was buying grocery by himself , he seemed so quiet and so modest. Man I really miss the Mondays nights when we used to gather and watch his show “Science and Faith” !!
He is a great thinker and intellectual regardless of whether you agree or disagree with him and his thoughts.
I am sorry to hear that :( Of course, Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud is a great thinker because at least he use his mind whether people agree with him or not. Look for his books and his famous program 'Science and Faith' which we missed it who were born in late 70s and early 80s of the past century. Hence, I wonder whether our generations after 1990 know anything about him?
ReplyDeleteRabena yeshfee we yekhafef men 3aleh. I still remember how my late grand father used to gather us to watch his show and how I got to understand so much about God's work through him. I still remember parts of his epi about the different theories about the pyramids of Giza.
ReplyDeleteI've read one book from him - Dialogue with an Atheist (in English) and I must say it was full of contradictions and barely "scientific"
ReplyDeleteBut good luck to him, hopefully he get better soon.
He used to present the only program on our great national TV that has to do anything with science. there was nothing else, not even remotely. I used to wait for it from week to week on Tuesday nights, and would be greatly disappointed if it was cancelled or it was a repeat.
ReplyDeleteI must say it was one of the most reasons I got interested in science at all, me and probably a lot of others from my generation. If only Egypt had a handful of men like him, it could have transformed Egypt into something else. But then again, that's not the message our propaganda apparatus want to send.
My prayers go out for one of the few respectable men of our time.
I hope that Allah helps him in this time.
ReplyDeleteI think that it's his end , Allah blesses him
He been extremely pain in the ass (or much precisely brain), as leftish first and as pseudo-scientific islamist later, a character full of contradiction, never liked him
ReplyDeletehe never knew what he exactly been talking about at any time, other than contributing to our blurry, biased & non-systematic view of science & the world in general
i hope he leave soon & without much pain !!!
اللهم البسه ثياب العافيه والصحة وخفف عن من يحبه مصابه وخفف عنه وهون عليه مرضه وما تبقى له في حياته واغفر له وارحمه وارحمنا جميعا

@Hicham, I do not think so , it is sad thing , they only know his Mosque and the square by his name , only few are interested to see his show on Youtube.
ReplyDelete@anonymous, I remember also his episodes , they were wonderful
@John,not all his books are scientific , some of them are religious, some of them are scientific
@HelperF1, I agree with , it is sad thing
@Mohamed , Amin
@Aardvark , I am sorry this rude and senseless

Already we would not know about his health if his daughter spoke about it in public :( it is sad
