The grand Mufti of Egypt has announced tomorrow , the 11th of August 2010 as the first day of Ramadan , Ramadan Karim everybody
The photo below is from Ramadan decorations across Cairo and Giza hang by the tourism as part of its tourist campaign in Ramadan 'Egypt's spirit is in Ramadan' which is targeting Arab tourists.
The tourism board has also announced a "The Ramadan lantern festivals 2010" , strangely we have not read more that festival at the same time the government has decided to fight Ramadan lanterns decorations in balconies and in shops calling them a waste of electricity !!

ReplyDeleteRamadan Kareem ya Z. The gov has a point about electricity but would be a good chance for a competition bet neighborhoods for best decoration using our traditional Fawanees (lanterns) instead of the Chinese not as beautiful ones.
