Do Not Take Photos For The Giza Zoo Gate

It seems that we did not have much action in the past week following the arrest of the Kung Fu spy and thus we have this shocking sad story.
Marah Hamasi
The story started when Syrian nuclear researcher  “Marah Hamasi” came with her brother “Mohamed” in visit to Cairo for the first time to attend some seminar. The Nuclear researcher would go to her seminar and her brother would go sightseeing in Cairo for three day then suddenly he disappeared with no trace in our big city last Wednesday. After 24 hours it became an enigma as no one knew where he had gone. The young lady had called her family back in Syria and her parents came immediately from Damascus. Only yesterday’s night we found out that the State security was detaining him for 48 on the suspicion of  espionage !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The State security agents in the area thought that he were a Syrian intelligence officer taking photos for the Israeli embassy  !!

The security released him and he left the country as soon as possible after 48 hours of State security hospitality. In a very quick interview with Youm 7 Mr. Mohamed Hamasi thanked God for what happed and promised that he would never return back to Egypt.

With the security tension following the arrest of the Kung Fu spy and the search for that other spy in Syria plus the nuclear factor in the story , the media in Egypt went crazy especially Youm  7. The Syrian embassy speculated that Israel could be behind that mysterious disappearance. “What is the use of kidnapping a researcher’s brother !!? Why not the researcher herself”
Still I think the Syrian embassy knew where he was because it quickly appointed famous lawyer Essam Sultan as the Hamasis’ attorney in Cairo in the last 24 hours. From where the Hamasis would know Essam Sultan !!? And why they get a lawyer if they do not know exactly what happened to their son !!?
There are certain question marks in the story , I do not get : If the security forces knew where he was , why they did not inform his family or at least his embassy and spare us from that media frenzy. I do  understand that they did not want to inform the embassy so they can check his background as they want.
Famous Zoo gate
Also how the security spotted him if he was taking photos for the Giza zoo gate , the only thing I think about is that he was taking photos for “Egypt’s renaissance” statue or taking photos for the square itself. The Israeli embassy is at the far top right of the map , the second building.

I want to visit the Zoo when it gets warmer and take bunch of shots including shots for its wonderful artistic gate but what happened to our Syrian brother is now encouraging. It seems the Zoo gate and Egypt’s renaissance have become no photography allowed zones because of the Israeli Embassy. The Israeli embassy has become a pain for the area surrounding it without doubt especially it is located at a very vital area in Giza. I believe for the sake of security  and also relations neutralization it should be transferred to the New Cairo 5th Compound !!
I really apologize the Hamasi family and I hope that they do not hate Egypt or Egyptians because of this. Of course I know as soon as the relations get bad with Syria , the Syrian media will tell us exactly what happened to Hamasi in those 48 hours. I must remind you that forced disappearances are common in Syria as well in Egypt and Egyptians suffer from the interventions of State security just the Syrians from their security apparatuses

  1. A small note about the Israeli Embassy.
Did you know that when they were still deciding where to put the embassy, Israel insisted that the embassy was located in Giza and not Cairo because Cairo is on the Eastern side of the Nile which they considered already part of their land ?!! (you know, from the Nile to the Forat thing :S)
So no, they shouldn't be relocated to anywhere, tbecause they don't even deserve to have an embassy in this country !
