Ramadan Arabian Nights 2023: Tale of Mando “Mando to outer space” #EP22

Ramadan Karim 😀

Get ready for a night of non-stop entertainment as we delve into Taher Abu Fasha's amazing work.

This famous Egyptian writer has ingeniously blended the Arabic Islamic heritage with the fantasy genre of One Thousand and One Nights and the mid-century science fiction genre.

We'll hear and see how he created this unique mix that is sure to leave you amazed.

There is also a character I believe was inspired by Al-Khidr. Tonight, there will be a mention of the “Great Bear” constellation aka Ursa Major. We will speak about it later.

But before we get to that, let's take a moment to refresh our memory on how our beloved Mando met with Q and A.

Get ready for a night of fun and adventure.

Here is the 22nd episode of our show, it is episode no. 484th in the Egyptian radio’s One Thousand- and One-Nights show.

Synopsis

And behold, two comely men suddenly materialized before Mando as he struggled to maintain his composure and avoid fainting. Q and A proceeded to demonstrate their ability to metamorphose from one form to another before his very eyes.

"Peace be upon thee," they declared in unison, assuring Mando of their benign intentions. Q and A proceeded to expound upon their identities, revealing that they were not demons or jinn, but beings akin to humans hailing from a planet that illuminated the Earth's sky.

Yet their planet was older than Earth, and their civilization far more advanced.

Their incredible ability to transmute matter into rays and energy enabled them to transform from one form to another. While Mando struggled to comprehend their revelations, Q and A confidently predicted that humanity would one day attain comparable sophistication.

"When will this come to pass?" queried Mando, to which A replied that it may take a million years. Mando despondently remarked that the world would have ended by then, but Q interjected that nothing ever truly ends in the universe, for everything transforms into something else.

Mando inquired as to the whereabouts of their planet, prompting Q to reveal that it was separated from Earth by a distance of three years, with each year on their planet equating to 1,000 Earth years.

Astonished, Mando asked how they had managed to reach Earth, to which they replied that it was a simple matter of transforming into rays and traversing the vast expanse of space.

"Your Earth is but a mere droplet in the vast sea of the galaxy," remarked A. The duo had journeyed to Earth to seek out a picturesque locale where they could shed tears of joy and return to their planet in high spirits, but they happened upon Mando whilst he was ruminating on his fortunes with great acuity.

Q and A marveled at Mando's sagacity, wondering whether humans had attained such levels of wisdom or if Mando was a cut above the rest. Despite Mando's entreaties to be left alone, Q and A were determined to take him to meet their king, El-Dobb El-Akbar, who had not aged a day on their planet, El-Anwar.

Summoning the superbeing Abu Khedar, the embodiment of the power of the breeze, Q and A commanded him to transport them through space. Mando was filled with trepidation, but Q assuaged his fears.

Abu Khedar brought them to the edge of the atmosphere, where Q and A shielded Mando from the crushing pressure of space. They were to reach their planet in the blink of an eye, but first, they must transmute into rays and energy.

Mando was hesitant, but Q and A threatened to abandon him in the vast emptiness of space if he did not comply. They promised him that he would eventually return to his human form and his home after visiting their planet.

And thus, Mando, the son of a garbage collector, was transformed into rays and energy. Tomorrow, inshallah, we shall discover what wonders await him on the planet El-Anwar.

Here is the televised version of tonight’s episode.

Till tomorrow night inshallah.
