Al-Zaidi Continues Speaking To Al Jazeera

Here is the second part of Muntader Al-Zaidi’s interview in Al Jazeera which was aired last Saturday.

I posted the first part of the interview last week. The interview was continued in Al Jazeera

In this part he continues how he was interrogated and tortured , he continues saying the names of those who tortured him , it turned out that what he said last week caused a buzz in Iraq. This episode included telephone calls from the Arab world , Al Zaidi seemed to be moved with all those compliments. He also wants to restore back his shoes , yes he did not get them back .Back to those who tortured Al Zaidi some of the names he mentioned are working in Maliki ‘s security ; I won’t lie and say that I am surprised !!

It is terrible experience , the old Baath regime by new names, new masters. These fake hollow slogans of freedom, democracy and human rights which the American army and its puppets in Iraq are ranting about just big lies !!

Muntader Al Zaidi did not apologize to Bush and he does not regret what he had done, in fact he would do it again if he had another chance. Muntader wants to start a humanitarian project dedicated to the widows and orphans of Iraq besides writing a book about his experience , I do not need to predict that his book insh Allah will be a best selling , I am waiting for it already.

By the way there is a rumor in Egypt saying that Muntader Al Zaidi is a persona non grata , the rumor goes on saying that Al Zaidi is currently suffering from some unknown disease and he wanted to come to Egypt for treatment , already he owns a flat in 6th of October governorate and his TV channel HQ is in Cairo too but the regime was going to welcome him on one condition :

  • He comes for treatment only , no interviews with our media what so ever nor public meetings ….etc

And it seems Al Zaidi could not take anymore of this stupidity and this is why he headed to Switzerland asking for political asylum !! Honestly I do not know if it is true or not but I do not rule out that our regime had done that and this makes me so angry !! Of course I know the reasons that may force the Egyptian regime to act in this way ; it is not about the American embassy more about the fear from his growing popularity. It is enough to see how the public press has ignored this important interview , he is really persona non grata for the Egyptian regime !!
