Visit the Pyramids while you can !!

Last night Wael Al Abrashi hosted a radical Salafist called Morgan El Gohary from Jihadist Salafist leaderships  in Egypt on Dream TV2 . This man used to fight with Taliban in Afghanistan and he recounts proudly how he participated with that radical group in blowing up the Buddha statue there in 2001.
Now this man is saying that the Jihadist Salafists in Egypt will destroy the Sphinx and the Pyramids as well all other ancient statues in Egypt because they should be destroyed. His logic is that these statues were once worshipped and could be worshipped again.
Morgan : We want to destroy the sphinx and the pyramids
Al Abrashi was hosting also a Tunisian Sheikh , Abdel Fatah Al Mourou, the co-founder of Al Nahada movement in Tunisia. That moderate Sheikh was shocked on the amount of ignorance sitting in front of him trying to debate him in common sense but what you know !!
For example :
Sheikh Al Mourou told Morgan that the old Muslims that came to Egypt from 14 centuries ago did not destroy the ancient Egyptian monuments and the answer of Morgan was : They did not have modern strong weapons !!!!
Seriously I do not feel good especially when I think with the amount of illegal arms these radicals got. Shall we ask for official protection from the Egyptian police or even from the international community to save world heritage from destruction after what happened in Iraq and Syria !? Shall we form popular groups to protect out monuments
I believe that Morgan and his friends got no place in Egypt , they can return to Afghanistan and do not preach me on the Freedom of speech to the right of citizenship because Morgan and co. believe in none.
Whoever let these guys out of their caves speaking to the media like that is doing a great job in scaring us all. The message is received.
I think you should visit the Giza Plateau as well other areas in Egypt that are full of ancient Egyptian monuments like Luxor and Aswan while you can. This could be our new Egyptian tourism authority’s marketing campaign !!
p.s : Sheikh Al Mourou impressed everybody in Egypt last night even Mubarak and Omar Suleiman's orphans

Update :

Concerned citizens spoke with Ikhwan Web, the English account of the MB on twitter regarding that wacko job who wants to demolish the pyramids and sphinx and this was the MB's answer.
The problem is that Jihadist Salafists consider MB as infidels !!
Ok as Egyptians we always create jokes from own misery , below two cartoons about that call to demolish our heritage. They got the same idea but they are funny in their own way.
Salafi Sphinx
"I am on the safe side" Sphinx to Salafist
And you got that Meme circulating on the Facebook
Sphinx's reaction
The Egyptians are extremely angry for these calls as they believe it is some sort of madness but some fear from these groups and they have to.
Again those who released them from their caves are playing their game of horror well because many think that the Old state security was doing a great job in keeping them away. The game is perfectly played but unfortunately it is like playing with the fire. This fire can burn us all !!

  1. Well it would have been a reasonable task for the police to arrest this man right away for harming egyptian national interest and doing damage to the perception of Egypt in the rest of the world. And of course this man was basically anouncing a criminal act.

But police likes to arrest people who demonstrate for higher wages or the personal liberties. What a perfect choice of priorities...

    1. Exactly! Why wasn't he arrested? .... you're right, 'cos he's not asking for more pay or his rights !!!! Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous!

    3. I stand firm by the principle of freedom of speach and I totally disagree with everybody who wants to get rid of it or even tries to empty its meaning. But it is not freedom of speach if u annouce a criminal act or even tell others to do so. Maybe I understood the guy wrong but isn't that what he did?

  2. Egyptians need to be more vocal and reject these Wahabi inspired nut cases!! A look of distaste needs to be on all Egyptians faces when they see women in Niqabs to show them that this radical ideology is not acceptable and not Islamic but bedouin culture.
The Wahabi channels are polluting Egypt with this nonsense! There has to be a national campaign to have them all removed from the airwaves. Utter rejection of Wahabism is Egypts ONLY saviour. and lets call it like it is. Lets stop saying Salafist when we really mean Wahabist. Just because Saudi pours millions in to indoctrinate with a few real estate ventures thrown in as bribery lets not forget who the REAL enemy is. This crazed Wahabi preacher with his own show just murdered his little daughter of 5 years old!!! Please blog this and highlight this issue because it has to be tackled head on http://english.al-akhbar.com/content/saudi-preacher-accused-torturing-daughter-death

    1. I agree with you except that Niqabs are not Bedouin culture, but having its origin in hadari culture. It is told that Hadidga the Prophet's (PBUH) wife did not wear a Niqab. Even in present times women from tribes in Saudi Arabia are not veiled.

    2. On the point. We need to be clearer though on who control those Salafi Idiots and who benefit from their actions. The key point is that Egypt with its unique magnificant history is very special country , regardless of its poor poor econmic portrait. Destroy these history icons that put egypt in such a unique status, combined with the hopless econmic condition , they destroy egypt without war. You notice they try to make the UAE an advanced status country (like old Lebanon of the seventies). Making UAE and Saudi Arabia (Salafi lands) look (just look) advanced , but under the surface ignorance prevails and population is not too big. i.e. no threat . The Salafi are playing in the hands of Egypt haters. Like MB in the hands of old UK, and Hamas in the hands of Israel. They use religion to give their deed a good image. God help Egypt....

    3. dont bring women into it if a woman wants to wear niqab she should be able to do so without leers from anyone. dont mess with our veils sir.

    4. Madam, with all due respect: Shut up, hide behind your Niqab and leave our beloved Egypt. We do not need the opinion of veiled women who cut off the hair of honest Christian ladies and throw her out off a train. Any of your kind and all those who wish to destroy our heritage have no place in Egypt! Got the message? A. S. A. B.

and THIS is how we must deal with these ignorant women! Well said Sir.
It's time that these cavemen and cavewomen left Egypt for Kabul and Kandahar with their ninja halloween costumes. Can you imagine if EVERY woman in the world walked around like they do. Think about it for a minute! Can you just imagine our world filled with black ghosts wandering around cutting people hair and hands and heads off! They are despicable and I agree totally they should be rejected in society. Miss Niqab has no problem leering at me from behind her halloween costume, her eyes following me around in shops and the street. Time to stare back at these freaks who are mentally challenged and let them know they are not wanted in Egypt. Send them all on planes to Afghanistan or Riyadh ASAP! and they can take their bearded lunatic short trousered ignorant infidel husbands with them.

  4. The "authorities", who are still controlled by the felool, will let such morons speak until public opinion turns against them and all religious groups and finally want the felool back in power.

If anyone would damage or destroy our ancient heritage you can bet that public fury will blast those fanatics away and they know that.
But what if some "third hand" does such terrorist act and tries to pin it on the Salafists???

  5. Here are some facts about the Sphinx. It's interesting to know that a Sufi sheikh, Muhammad Sa'im al-Dahr, and not Napoleon, was the one who chipped off the nose in 1378 upon finding the Egyptian peasants making offerings to the Sphinx in the hope of increasing their harvest. It's also interesting to know that the Sphinx used to have a beard before it was destroyed.

    1. It was a lion before it was Chephren the pharoah. It was the Guardian of the plateau long before the pharoahs. The pharaohs re carved it and added a pharaonic beard. It's around 10,000 years old they say.

  6. you know I used to respect this blog more than any other Egyptian blog, but lately I have not been feeling the same.

-Recently El-ibrashi is like a media whore trying to prove that he can fill the place of Mona El Shazli, so he would do anything to get attention.
-His guest is a lunatic, an extremist, there are so many people with crazy thoughts, the only question is for any person with half a brain is, do they have a weight, or are they just noise?

Now when the title is visit the pyramids while you still can, I have lost my faith in this blog to present real issues.

  8. The real danger Egypt will face in the very near future is not the rants these religious fanatics are voicing but the return of Egyptian jihadist warriors from Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Sinai etc. and impose their radical beliefs through acts of terrorism.

  10. Speaking as an American, I hope we are able to aid you in safeguarding the pyramids: they are Egyptian, of course, but they also belong to the world - they are the pinnacle of human creation of their day! It would be a tragedy for *everyone* if they were destroyed.

  11. Well, the prophet (saw) himself seized and destroyed the places of worship of non Muslims of his time. I don't see why some modern Muslims are opposing this Ghohary guy. The prophet (saw) would have done the same.

    1. The prophet"SAW" destroyed the false idols in Mecca during the conquest but let me ask you one question : Why did not his companions did not destroy the ancient Egyptian statues in Egypt when they came !?
In fact do you see us worship ancient Egyptian idols for God sake !? This is our history
Please do not insert the Prophet in this.

      Delete
    2. Well, the Sunnah of the prophet (saw) is to level all raised graves and the pyramids are nothing but raised graves and the Sphinx is a pagan idol of worship. The prophet (saw) did not simply command the Muslims not to worship the idols by keeping them intact, he went and destroyed them. He did not build Muslim's holiest places elsewhere, but right at the place of worship of non Muslims of his time. Why are you afraid of truth? A true Muslim doesn't feel ashamed of Sunnah of the prophet (saw)

another ignorant fool who knows nothing of Islam or it's history.

For your information Muslims did NOT destroy non Muslims worship houses!!! you damned ignoramus! They left churches and synagogues intact all the way from Arabia to Spain! It is these ignorant foolish statements made by ignorant people who only care about beards and veils but know ZERO!! about Islamic history that are the biggest threat to Muslims the world over. They lie about the prophet, the lie about everything because they are too lazy to learn anything except how to blindly recite words they have no clue the meaning of. I have witnessed 2 occasions of stealing out of shops. BOTH occasions were by Niqabi women with their children used as little thieves like Oliver Twist and his artful dodgers. REPEAT!!!! Both Niqabi women!!!!

    4. Dear Anonymous , the prophet's grandchildren lived and died in Egypt , I think they know Sunnah better than you and they did not call anyone to destroy the pyramid
Dear Anonymous the companions of Prophet Mohamed "PBUH" who lived with him , who knew him and came to Egypt did not call for the destruction for the pyramids.Do you think that you know Sunnah and Islam better than those companions !?
Plus my dear Sphinx actually is not an idol , it is a statue representing the king with the lion's body

It is my dream to visit the Pyramids and I am a peace loving tolerant person but I fear visiting Egypt right now because I have connections with 2 countries many Egyptians hate (you can guess which ones) and because, as a woman, I have heard too many stories of women being harassed in Egypt. I hope you all stand up and defend your (and civilization's) heritage from any possible harm

  15. Beware: To all those who dare speak and act for destruction in the name of God' will! His inspiration in human achievements is the Sacred Spark which allows the Expression of His Primal Will to Good which eternally Creates and Maintains the Universe. Any such act of destruction will be an affront to God and will result with the vultures of old Egypt feasting on the flesh and bones of those hateful destroyer of His Creation, be it Divine or Inspired to mankind.
