Please read this article from The Herald Tribune Well I guess the problem is becoming much and much deeper Already I found out that Queen of Denmark made a book attacking Islam in it !!
Queen of denmark said in an interview more than 10 months ago, that islam is a serious threat that all europe should stand against now
voices in the newspapers in denmark attacked her at that time as her speech call for hate
I still see that boycotting denmark is not the solution, the problem is getting deeper into a real cultural difference and a real threat that a crash will happen, if it hasn't already happened
I still see that the fault is first ours, then the gov because they are behind all this nonsense going on
I think you have just demonstrated how utterly ignorant people can be when the press simply runs the stories it wants to run because it suits their propaganda purposes. The misunderstanding is due to a fault in a translation done by the BBC a long time ago.
The Danish sentence was: 'det er afgørende, at vi (danskerne, red.) giver islam et modspil'. The word thats wrongly translated is "modspil"
"Opposition" (e.g. as in must fight against) in danish is "modstand". Modspil is in the line of working together - engaging in constructive and mutual critical debate.
This was written in the context regarding the discussion of how it is possible to make space and living room for people with different religious and ethnic backgrounds - and how extreme/conservative muslims to some degree had gained a monopoly about decreeing what islam is about in denmark - something that needed to be met with constructive dialog that included the moderate muslims because the conservative muslims ideas about honor-killings etc. were not compatible with a western democracy.
Just thought I would put the record straight as you seem to have completely misunderstood all this.
