He listened to him after all !!

Do you remember last year when we found in Egypt that the Russian 52697726 newspapers were speaking about a bad advice President Mubarak said to President Putin ??!!

The one about staying in rule for another Presidential period despite the fact that the Russian Constitution only permits for two successive periods !!

Do you remember that both parties denied the whole incident !!

Well it seems that Putin listened to his Egyptian friend's advice in the end and he is planing to stay for another Presidential Period !!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Good for us that Putin is stayin in power! He opposed the the war aginst Iraq. He selling sophiticated weapons to Syria and Algeria as well as being more than wiling to TRANSFER Miltary technologies to Egypt.

About democracy, the western version of democracy doesnt suit the Arab culture and Arab world- that sort of democracy simply doesn't serve our best interests.

Those organizations are very stupid, arrogant and ignorant, for presuming that that this conception of democracy- which has developed autonomusly in the west, and was the outcome of the the politcal, social and historical dynmaics in other societies- is suitabl for all societies at all times

In that sense, I think that Sadam Hussien and Gamal Abdel Nasser are very democratic, especially Ssdam Hussien who is one of the most deomcratric leaders in the world actually he is the matyr of democracy

  4. Well I actually agree with Amre regarding Putin. Western- style democracy in Russia resulted in increased lawlessness, high crime rates, high inflation and the oligoarchs and the Russian mafia running amok. Perhaps a Russia that isn't totally bending over to Western world influence provides some sort of balance. Not much but some.

I also wonder if the western form of democracy would work in the Middle East or elsewhere. Actually even here, the politicians are quite crooked. Each makes false promises to cut taxes, provide more jobs, fund all kinds of social programs. Once they get into power, they give themselves pay raises, kickbacks, money for people who donated to their campaigns, increase taxes and do nothing to promote the creation of new jobs or lower taxes. But the bonus here is that we can get rid of our crooks every few years and put in new fresh crooks who can begin to steal again. Also, because people in N. America live comfortably, they don't complain so much. They are aware that most politicians are liars and crooks but there is no inclination to alter the status quo. So who knows what system really works best.

  6. @Amre, well if look to the strategic point ,we need Putin to bring some balance to the world ,despite all his cons unfortunately but Saddam is a democratic leader.... man this is a new definition for democracy then , by the way do you know Saddam in his time had his 99 names !!!

@N.American princess ,just before we attack the western democracy saying that it does not suite any country ,we must understand what happened in Russia , who are the Russian mafia ..etc
dear all the people in the new Russia are actually the old people of the communist party
My professor in the University taught me something ,a golden rule , if you want to have a radical change then you must have new faces , new names , new system , you can't have the same old men from the corrupted System to be leading the new system
the problem of Russia just like us and the rest of the Arab world , the previous regimes or ruling parties like the communist party in Russia or the NDP party in Egypt is that they stayed in the rule too long that they eliminated any other face that can bring change ,a radical one ,just like the case in EGypt we need to undergo a complete change from up to down if we want a real progress
an example to what i am saying but reverse one is the change from the monarchy constitutional democratic system to the republic system in 1952 , new face that brought a whole system with them regardless whether it was good or bad

@aardvark , I think you are right , he fits in that world

  7. I approve that opposing to the war agaist Iraq and not bending to the west is a good thing but it sure does not excuse everything in my opinion.

  8. I agree with you Seg , Putin is just doing what in his interest ,he is not doing this or that policy for the sake of international peace or the suffering people's black eyes , it is only for the interest of the russian oil companies , not to mention his police state , his corruption and what is happening in Chanhinya
