Of course you have read all the results of the latest World survey about the most happiest people in the world. It seems that the Danes are the happiest in the world and the saddest are the Zimbabweans “99”.
When I read all these reports I wonder where Egypt was , what its rank was , may be it can show us a glimpse on how much happy we are . No to mention I wanted to know also the Other Arab counties ranks. Of Course Iraqis turned to be from the saddest people “94”, you do not need much brain to know why.
My problem is that I did not have a full list but I was lucky enough to find it here in Random Chronicles blog.
If you do not have patience to read all the list and want to know the ranks of happiness for the Arab world and Egypt ,then look below.
The first Arab people who made it in the list as happy are the Saudis , they are in the 26th rank , they made it from the top the 30 !!
The second Arab people who made it in the list are the Jordanians , they are in the 57th rank then we got the Moroccans in the 68th rank then their rival Algerians in the 72th rank.
And the no so big surprise the Egyptians ,my people came in the 74th rank
Israel by the way made it in the 45th rank and Iran in the 64th rank.
Of course this survey didn't include all the countries in the world and surely if it did things would different , but no so different in our case.
No one can deny that Egyptians are not happy now in their country thanks to our cheerful government and regime decisions whether politically or economically , we are like foreigners in our own country.
It is not so strange.
By the way most newspapers especially the official used the AP report and forget to mention the rest of the countries including us , surely they won’t say that we are the from least happy in the world , they dare not to say it , We are the happiest even more than the Danes in official press , ask Rosa Al Youssef Mag and Newspaper.
Hello, thanks for mentioning my blog. Cheers!

Wow! I have found Egyptians to be people who, regardless of their situation, are so positive, good natured, and welcoming. I have had angry Egyptians give me their precise declarations about the government, while overall having a good outlook on life. I seem to think it's a situation of diminishing expectations - expect less, and you will be less unhappy.
ReplyDelete@elaine , you welcome dear.
ReplyDelete@Vagabondblogger, it is one of our qualities I think , the joke is our weapon , it is a situation of diminishing expectations as you name ,we got a proverb that says "extend your legs based on the size of the bed cover
Happiness in Egypt now in these days seems hard to find with all those troubles , this is when we won the African Cup of Nations we were very happy , we were searching something to make us happy :(
I was just reading a BBC article about the same topic, but probably an older one mentioning Nigeria as the happiest nation - I personally wanted to find out Egypt's rank currently and wasn't surprised to find it that low. I'm Egyptian, but have only lived in Egypt for the last seven years including university years. The government hospital I work in only gives a small window into the suffering of the people here.
ReplyDelete@Moe , there is no surprise at all ,already I read recently about the increase rate of suicide in Egypt , man I think it is hard to work in such place with all the suffering there
