In 2012 America will have its election and before it in 2011 Egypt will have the presidential elections if nothing happens in the coming years . The world will watch for sure ,of course the American elections will not be interesting like this year’s election but our Egyptian elections will be much more interesting because Mubarak will be 89 years old and it is either him or his son Gamal Mubarak who will represent the NDP ,the ruling party in Egypt in that election and for the record Gamal may be the first real civilian to rule Egypt since the revolution of 1952 in the modern time ,of course Late Sufi Abu Talab was the first and till now the last civilian President to rule Egypt for 60 days in 1981.
In the latest NDPC Gamal Mubarak said that the party has not put any future plan yet for whom will represent him in the 2012 presidential elections especially that there is no vice president up till this moment despite that the party made sure to make sure that Gamal Mubarak can reach to presidency through legal way.
Some hypocrite members of the NDP believed that Mubarak should run for Presidency despite the fact that Mubarak will be then 89 years old !!
Not only them some political analysts in Egypt like Dr.Hala Mustafa believe that Mubarak the father would run for presidency in 2012 because he does not want to leave it to his son despite his son opportunity for Presidency is insured as long as his father is alive. Mubarak really wants to be oldest ruler in Egypt if this happens. So we will wait for 2011 and see what is going to happen in the next 4 years and if the scenario of 2010 does not take place; Mubarak leaves Presidency where as his son runs for Presidency.
Today I kept watching the coverage of the News channels from America and the world and I wondered when we will have the ability to choose our president like this, in fact when we will have the ability to cover in the media this elections like this . May be we will in the end ,we should not lose hope , after all who ever thought that a Black man would run for presidency of the United States and succeed like this.
