These photos I took in Alexandria last October 2008.
What I love in Alexandria “with no arrangement what so ever”
- The refreshing air
- The cafes and cafeterias on the Corniche.
- The scene of the families in the cafeterias eating Gelato or Gelati* Thursday Night
- The Alexandrian accent
- Bibliotheca
- The Lada taxis
- Old hotels like Cecil
- The city itself
I love Alex so much ,may be because my great grand mother was from there.
The only thing I do not like there is the mad driving of its people on the Corniche.
Fairoz and the Alexandrian shore
You are the most stupid girl ever on the blogsphere, and maybe even in Egypt. It hilariously unbelievable that historic fossils of your kind still exist.

I agree, the traffic is crazy! I was hit by a taxi crossing the road. I iked the hot roasted sweet potatoes sold by vendors on the streets, the honey and yoghart shops, the fresh air...a beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the top 3 places one must visit when they come to alex as a tourist?
ReplyDelete@anonymous,If I were like what you are saying , why you bother coming here in the first place !!
ReplyDelete@Ghafari,it is the camera, about Alex, I think it is a suicidal to cross the cornciche , despite I once did , of course it was like a scary film
@Vincent , getting hit while crossing the corniche is terrible , I hope that you did not feel pain for long
Sweet Potato.. yummy..yummy
Yes who can't fall in love with this city
@anonymous, ok for me there is the Qatibay Citadel , the Bibliotheca Alex and the Montaza Palace area
of course there are other places like the Royal Jewels musuem ,you can see the remainings of Mohamed Ali Family jewels after being stolen !!
there are the greek and roman musuem
also there are the greek sites
I am an American and I love Egypt and Egyptians. My wife and I visited Alexandria on our honeymoon in 1954. We also visited there many times in the early Seventies. I can see that it has changed drastically- too bad!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think you spend too much time on the bad things. Maybe like the U.S. media- bad news gets the priority. You often talk about bad governments. Don't you believe that the democratic elections in Iraq are worth mentioning?
