Another monthly post as part of the COVID-19 coverage in Egyptian Chronicles.
This time it is a quick look into COVID-19 numbers in Egypt after 14 months since its arrival to the country in February 2020.
Now we have got two months to compare with the numbers of 2020, specifically February and March.
This is an interactive graph. You can see each year and month by clicking on the tabs.
The most important thing to notice here is the official numbers went up in March 2021 from February 2021.
The total numbers of official registered cases went up from February “16,473 cases” to March “19,707 cases” by 19.6%.
The total numbers of official registered fatalities dropped from February “ 1,372 cases” to March “ 1,307 cases” by 4.7% which is not big.
Meanwhile, the total number of officially registered recoveries went up from February “ 11,256 cases” to February “13,802 cases” by 22.6%
Comparing to March 2020
Now comparing to March 2020, the numbers went up for real and it did not go down.
The total numbers of official registered cases increased in March 2021 “19,707 cases” comparing to March 2020 “709 cases” by 2679.5% !! You are damned right.
The total numbers of official fatalities cases increased in March 2021 by “1,307 cases” comparing to March 2020 to “46 cases” by 2741%.
The total numbers of official recoveries cases increased in March 2021 “13,802 cases” comparing to March 2020 “157 cases” by 8691%.
Huge numbers and these numbers are not even the real numbers.
There is an important fact here, people were really scared and worried in March 2020 than in March 2021 and the government imposed a semi-lockdown
People do not give a damn for real now sadly.
I would like to hint out that according to Minister of Health Hala Zayed in early January, the official numbers of cases represent between 10%-15% of the real number of cases worldwide and not in Egypt only.
Here is the Daily coronavirus official case count in the past 14 months.
Here are also the Daily official fatalities cases count and Daily official fully recovered patients case count in 14 months.
Stay well, stay safe and get vaccinated.
