Ramadan Arabian Nights 2021 : Tale of King Mahorab “The Light at the other side of the mountain” Ep.30

Good evening,
Here we are with the final night of our Radio Arabian Nights for this year.
We will conclude our tale for this year, the tale of King Mahorab and I hope that you like it.

Now Zumarad is the new King of Ghouls, stuck with them for one year. Till one day, he orders his aide to bring his horse with a bow and arrows, he will go on a hunting trip.

Near the Mountain of smoke, he sees a very beautiful Hinny “Ass” and he wants not to hunt it down but to own it.

Every time he tries to catches it, it escapes and leads him closer to the mountain.

The hinny seems to be trying to communicate with him, it drags to a cave in the mountain where he finds a giant fat snake.

The hinny seems to be asking him to get rid of that awful animal. He assumes that the snake ate the hinny’s babies.

He attacks an arrow and with his bow, he kills the snake in its head. He also takes his sword and cuts open the gigantic snake belly only to find the hinny’s babies alive.

Happy that its babies are alive, the hinny pushes Zumarad deeper and deeper in the dark cave in the heart of the mountain where he finds a whole hall full of jewels lightened by their reflections. 

He takes some of the jewels and wants to return back to his horse but it pushes him deeper and deeper into the dark cave and amazingly he finds light eventually in the far end.

He follows the light and it turns out that it is an exit. He has left the valley of the ghouls. He did what no other human has done; he conquered the mountain of smoke and escaped the ghouls.

Zumarad catches a caravan passing by and gives its leader one jewel to buy horses and camels as well as to get to Serendib and here he is back to the Kingdom.

Mahorab is so touched especially when his youngest tells him that he was not successful as his brothers as he did not return with a marriage or a crown.

The King orders that his youngest son marries his beloved Shams El-Nahr at the temple.

The very old Harut leads the marriage ceremony and he reminds Mahorab that his prophecy comes true. It is the time for the one King who marries one queen.

As soon as Harut finishes the marriage, he collapses and dies just like his Djinn versions in Mahorab’s marriages in the Djinn realm.

King Mahorab orders that there will be no celebration due to the death of Priest Harut but he has another important announcement.

Mahorab declares that he abdicates from the throne to his son Zumarad. Zumarad is the New King of Serendib.

And they all live happily ever after till death comes as the ultimate end for all, Scheherazade concludes the tale.
