This time it is a quick look into official COVID-19 numbers in Egypt after 17 months since its arrival to the country in February 2020.

Disclaimer: According to Minister of Health Hala Zayed in early January, the official numbers of cases represent between 10%-15% of the real number of cases worldwide Egypt included.

Here is the graph, it is interactive so you can click on it and click on the tabs to compare between 2020 and 2021.

From May 2021 to June 2021

The total numbers of official registered cases went down from   May “35,098 cases” to June “18,632 cases” by 46.9%.

The total numbers of officially registered fatalities went down too from May “ 1,757 cases” to June  “1,073 cases” by 38.9%.

Meanwhile, the total number of officially registered recoveries also went down from May “ 21,399 cases” to June “19,272” by 9.9%

Comparing to June 2020

Now comparing to June 2020, the numbers declined sharply due to the fact that June 2020 was the peak month of the Covid-19’s first wave in Egypt whereas in June 2021 we have just passed the peak of the pandemic’s third wave.

There is no doubt that the amount of knowledge and experience the Egyptian medical sector got in June 2021 is bigger than in June 2020.

The total numbers of official registered cases declined in June 2021 “18,632 cases” comparing to June 2020 “43,326 cases” by 56.9%

The total number of official fatalities cases declined in May 2021 “1,073 cases” comparing to June 2020 “ 1,994 cases” by 46%.

The total numbers of official recoveries cases increased in June 2021 “19,272 cases” comparing to June 2020 “12,423 cases” by 55%.

Here is the Daily coronavirus official case count in the past 17 months.

Here are also the Daily official fatalities cases count and Daily official fully recovered patients case count in 17 months.

Concerning the number of vaccinated people in Egypt by the end of June, we do not have a definite official number but according to the statements of the officials We have nearly between two and three million vaccinated so far in Egypt including those who took like me one jab and waiting for the other.

Again Egypt is a bit slow due to factors: We need a lot of vaccines and people are scared and worried thanks to the globe conspiracy theories that have been translated into Arabic.

Stay well, stay safe and get vaccinated.
