Pope Shenounda III is in hospital again

Pope Shenounda III ,the head of the Egyptian Orthodox Church was transferred to the "Salam" internaitonal hosptial at Mohonedessin after a clopase during his weekly speech in the Church at Abassiya last wednesday , which caused a lot of panic and fear between those who attended the speech according to the News reports

The health of the  Spirtual leader of Egypt's biggest Christian group was not well at all in the last couple of years , I believe it is moving from bad to worst in a very crticial time. ALready I do not think that the Church is honest regarding his condition esepcially this year. I understand very well the reason;we are forgetting that there are huge conflicts and inside wars are taking place inside the church regarding of whom would take his place ,despite the fact his position is by elections , still as any institution in the world there are parties and people who are making their calculations and allainces from now

Pope Shenounda was already in medical treatment trip in the States when he suddenly decided to return back to Egypt despite the warnings of the medical doctors , his Egyptian doctors advised him to stay in bed in Egypt yet he did not listen and insisted on his weekly speech , where he clopased this is the official Church story that is reported to the different media

Mubarak called the Church to ask about his health with wishes of Speed recovery , so did almost all the officials and the Sheikh of Al-Azhar and grand Mufty

Well I wish him a speed recovery despite my feeling that his health is not getting any better on the contrary .

I respect Pope Shenounda III despite all what is said , already this time in Egypt the Egyptian Orthodox Church is facing many chanllanges whether from the radicals or the seculars or more important from Immigrant copts who are putting more fuel of the sectarian fire in Egypt

The relation between the Muslims and Christians in Egypt now is not at its the best time , both sides are suffering from huge tensions.

I fear that after Pope Shenouda someone radical would take place especially with the increasing radical tune in the church from the priests and their clash with the secular Copts from one side and also the radicals from the Muslims from another side

It is just like a closed circle

Pope Shenouda is not a religious man but also a Class A politican , not all the religious men have this quality

Anyhow hopefully he is getting better now ,of course this topic is not closed , it is just re-opened

despite all what is said zeinobia, amazing!!!!

forgive me, but as far as i know, P.SH.III is involved in Regime-Support game as equal to Al-Azhar Sheikh

but you give him delicate treatment, though i really can't touch P.SH.III effect in the coptic community.
    i can't see him (ir-replacable)

P.S. don't interpret this comment on theocratic basis.
i am only looking for unified parameters

  2. I understand what you mean , but as far as I understood from the copts Mubarak is playing another game with them , me or the MB , the boogy man of Islamists , P.SH III has a powerful position than the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, he can't be replaced or removed and his removal will have a bad effect just like in the days of President Sadaat , when he says Yes for Mubarak is more of a compromise ,some kind of a deal

still we can't deny that this old man is one hell of politician who
cares for the sake of his people
no to mention his public statements and opinions regarding important subjects like the neutralization of relations with Israel , the travel to the the holy land

by the way sometimes I do not like his opinions or acts and i was from the first people in the blogsphere who attacked him when he said yes to Mubarak , but we must understand what is going on behind the scene
