The Dexi Somalia Schools

The Dexi schools in Somalia are the oldest kind of school in the African torn country.

It is mainly an Islamic School for teaching Quran and learning it, they teach the children how to read the Quran and learn it by hard . Also they learn children Math .

It is a custom for the Somali families ,a prestige for the families whether rich or poor to send their children to those schools  , Somali are very attached to Islam .

The Dexi Schools materials in the poor areas of Somalia and they are so many , the children use books and note books made of woods like the pictures in Al-Jazeera.net report ,which is unfortunately in Arabic , the children use pens made of coal ,oh yes Coal.

The Dexi Schools are form of Madrasah , or the Islamic religious school , we have like them in the villages in Egypt the Kotaab , where boys join it before joining the Al-Azhar education.

You know if the rich gulf States like Saudi Arabia like to do a favor with another Arabic Muslim School ,they must help the Somali , to support and improve these schools ,to teach other subjects beside the Quran

Really Somalia after long time of wars need a restart and this restart will come from religion if it is well understood , Islam calls the rich to help the poor and Somalia is a poor country , the rich Islamic states can give it financial helps to in order to help the younger coming generations to have a better life than their father far away of wars

The best investment Islam call for is the investment in the education , the Dexi can be greater than what they are doing now if they are funded well

Remember In the middle ages when Europe was killing all scientists and considered chemistry and science as madness and infidelity ,Sciences were flourished in the Islamic scientists ,and it is not coincident that most of the scientists in the middle ages in the Islamic east studied and learnt Quran in their childhood like Hassan Ben El-Haytham or Omar El-khayam, there could be another Hassan Ben El-Haytham , a Somali one need to have a chance but can't because of poverty

The Somali people need our help

You know I don't underestimate the Dexi schools ,because all the great pioneers in the Modern Egypt Renaissance time like Sheikh Mohamed Abdo and others , we should take care and raise the standards of these schools ,not only for fighting bad radical thoughts but also to fight back the customs and traditions that are against the Islam
