La Marche de l' empereur {The March of the Penguins}, a wonderful french documentary ,was produced in year 2005 that dazzled the whole world and won 11 international awards including an Oscar for the best documentary.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of Art I have ever seen about love , about nature , about the wonderful world of animals , seriously already I am from the people who got bored if they watched a documentary about the wild life more than one hour , but this film made sit still for 85 minutes for its script , for its wonderful picture , the wonderful music and above all the wonderful heroes , the beautiful Penguin
The film is simply about a one year journey for a Penguin family from the Emperor Penguin specie , a male and female and the life produced from their wonderful lovely meeting which was filmed in a very beautiful way
How the male and female exchange roles to get food for the young one , how they stand against the harsh winter in magnificent way and how they depart in order to let the life cycle completes and the young one finds his way in this white vast world alone
It is wonderful , oh God a whole new world ,there were scenes in this film that makes forget the whole world and think about
Do you know that Penguins stay in the coldest winter in Antarctica for complete three months protecting the egg from cold ??
Do you know that do you that Penguins in order to stand against cold winds of the winter they gather in circle to keep up the heat ??
Do you know that some female penguins when they found that their babies are dead because of the cold weather ,they go and kidnap another baby even if it is under another female ??
Do you know that the males recognize their babies from their voices ??
I do not think that you know , but believe me this is not the usual National Geographic or Discovery wild life facts documentary , it is a far away from that kind of documentary , it is about life , it is about love , it is a journey thousands of centuries that specie has been living according it till now
You will be amazed about the system of these wonderful creature sobah Allah, it is amazing how they walk in a straight line , how they protect their little ones , how they swim , how they love each other
The Script is the narration of the life of the family as the members themselves describe it
I was going to cry when I see how the mother Penguin is sad for the loss for her baby and how she runs to get another one , I was going to cry when they showed this lost penguin who was alone in the big white ice with no tribe to lead ,when that ugly bird come from the sky and hunted a little baby
The background music is wonderful ,still I notice something the film is french originally and I saw it with the french narration but the songs in the background were English ,still it was beautiful especially the Song "The Storm is coming" ,the music is wonderful
Seriously you much watch this beautiful film ,this is a family film for all ages :)

Saw this film last year and it was lovely. Morgan Freeman accompanying the penguins was perfect.
