Arabic X-Files: Was King Hussein of Jordan a Freemason??

The Jerusalem Post published last week that the French Freemasonry society "I think the Grand Orient De France" will held their annual meeting for the first time in Israel. The organization which is known for its secrecy would visit the Israeli landmarks. Till now there is noting interesting in the news beside the Freemason factor itself , already it well known that the Freemasons support Israel ,this is a historical fact ,so it is not a surprise to find out that their annual convention will be held there "by the way we should not forget that the Freemasons as a movement came to life during the crusades" yet the newspaper wanted to add some spice to the news mentioning the most important and famous Freemasons in the world from the world leaders including : King Hussein of Jordan.

They are saying that he was a 33rd degree Freemason which is a very high degree in Freemasonry .

May be it is surprise for some and some will not believe it easily because it is published in Israeli newspaper yet the majority especially in my country in Egypt with my all respect to all Jordanians will believe it easily due to the history of King Hussein May Allah bless his soul and his political position with the west and Israel. To be honest despite the fact that Egypt did not have good relations with King Hussein in 1960s and 1970s especially during President Nasser's era still we did not hear that he was a Freemason at all , my family did not recall , my late grandfather who knew late King Talal "the father of King Hussein himself" personally and did not like King Hussein either did not tell me once that he was a Freemason "My grandfather respected so much king Talal by the way ".If It was well known as the Israeli newspapers and western sources are speaking about the Nasser media machine would have used for sure against the late King .

For me I can accept this ,simply because this man since his childhood was educated and prepared to be on the western side "Not because his policies " . This man was educated in the famous Victoria College boarding school in 1940s and 1950s in Alexandria ,before the nationalization all the foreign schools in Egypt were following their mother countries. Victoria was well known that it was made to graduate the future top elite class from the Egyptian and Arab society who were raised up and programmed according to the British policies , the British were our invaders at that time .This is not my talk , it is well known in History and it is enough to hear an Old Victorian like Ex-Minister Mansour Hassan. I am not saying that they were teaching them in Victoria to become future Freemasons , I am saying they used to prepare them to accept a specific mind set, they were programmed and this was its main disadvantage , Victoria College graduated thousands who did not become Freemasons , then King Hussein completed his education in UK in their military schools .By the way this was not the Victoria's disadvantage only but all other foreign schools in Egypt during that time too , whether the other British Schools or the French schools.

My grand mother told me once about their relative that was educated in Victoria college and Oxford ,coming back with complete British mind set and how he had this Freemason ring "This gentleman was the brother of a very well known feminist figure in Egypt"

Still again we can't be sure 100%

The question that should be asked if this claim was true , how this effected his decisions as a king to a country in the middle east in one of the most critical time in the modern history.

The Freemasons were and are not a charity loving society ,because if they were why they would have stayed in secret till now

  1. F.Y.I great majority of the USA presidents were Freemasons, and similarly top level British politicians. Knowing how closely connected with those groups King Hssein was you shouldn't be surprised. Not ony that, his son the current king also belongs to this famous secretive organization

    1. HI!
To end all of your discussions.I was a teenager from Vienna,Austria and was invited to a freemason-ceremony by Bubi Marischka the producer of the Sissy movies and freemason grandmaster,to meet Hussein at a secret ceremony at the Marischkas villa ,when King Hussein received the highest freemason-order ,bowing his head before Marischka.

      FYI
Only 14 presidents thought of as Freemason member. That is far from being great majority..

  2. I think it's very hard to tell either way what a not so "secret" society supports or who its members are, and even formal history isn't always accurate. This is more like rumors. So, it's probably more productive to analyse his decisions and actions rather than speculate on freemasonry.

Perhaps people can be influenced much more easily in their youth, but I think programmed is too strong a word to use. Once you hit your 30s, you tend to learn your own lessons from experience which will have far more effect on you than something said in a lecture hall. King Hussein died in his mid 60s.

The other factor to being educated in a culture other than your own is that you tend to aquire a 3rd party bird's eye view of both cultures which can make your decisions more objective towards both.

  3. @Ohio, I know about the U.S Presidents and British politicians it was the fashion in the past
we can't be sure from King Abdullah after all these are secret societies do not declare their members , being half British Half Arab and following his dad's footstep in the Pro-American policies are not enough evidence

@Hani , I understand and know that when it comes to Freemasonry you do not know what is myth from reality
but if we will judge or analyse the late king's decisions , I am afraid that it make people believe that he was a Freemason due to his pro western policies
To be educated in a culture other than yours to have another bird view is good thing but when you are taught since your childhood on specific mindset then you will not have this bird because originally your native view was taken off since your childhood , the old proverb says the education in childhood is like writing on stones , again there was a specific way in teaching Kings and princes in the Arab world in the foreign schools for example
King Farouk had British Nannies and teachers , the commissioner in Egypt used to get a report about progress from time to time in order to make sure that they will a British King not Egyptian one and it was not for his lonely childhood , his Aquarius nature and the fact that King Fouad was wise enough to appoint Hussein Pasha as the special tutor of the crown prince , King Farouk would have been a real British King

    1. It is so unfair accusing and blaming freemasonry for the bad things happening to the world. Not that Freemasonry is a religion, is Islam bad because of Muslims wrong doing, or any other religion for that matter.
If you claim that Freemasonry is a secret society then how do you know about it? If its practices are unknown to the outsider, then how you assume that it is devilish. Freemasonry is not a secret group. As a matter of fact, any lodge at any country must have government acceptance & permission to practice. Freemasonry is wide open but people do not want to see. They like the mystery behind it and many made fortunes selling books about Freemasonry simply because readers who do not know- simply don’t know what lies it carries.
I could be the youngest middle-eastern 32 degree mason. I received that degree when I was almost 23 years old. I have gone through all the degrees and have not seen anything that could disturb my ethics or believes. Actually, to me it was an old fashion school that teaches all strokes of life and some sciences that were know to elected people. “Not anymore”. I consider it as fraternity where members become friends just like any club you maybe a member of.
To tell you the truth, it is not Freemasonry that we should blame, but the sinful nature of humans that loves control, destruction & abuse.
If you like mystery, keep it as it is, but I tell you the truth it’s NO mystery.

  4. well I'm Jordanian, and whether or not any of our kings was or is a freemason is a posibility, but having said that, why don't you explore the possibility of Mubarak is a freemason? or even Sadat.

I'm not offended, history is history, and facts are facts, so in this spirit, you might want to read this link: http://www.egy.com/community/99-03-01.shtml
which documents freemasonry in egypt, and since that is closer to home, you might want to write about it as another x file.

    1. BrotherAmmar if you look at the fact Egypt is one of the oldest country in the world opened a freemason tamble in Alexandria city and was in the 1400 or 1600 century if I'm accurate so Mubarak and Sadat were both was freemason even thought Mohammad Ali was Masonic to

      Delete
  5. @ammar, as you said history is history and I know very well the history of Freemasonry in Egypt , already we had Freemason Lodges they were closed after the revolution and you will be surprised by the list of the so-called Egyptian members
I know about the page Mr Samir Rafaat had written
already I was preparing a couple of posts about interesting freemasonary in Egypt
about history and leaders , well actually you will be surprised to know that both Presidents Nasser and Sadat were accused to be Freemasons due to their political activities pre-the free officers
Both of them had joined and tried almost every party and political group in Egypt , you name from MB to leftist groups to nationalists , still we should not forget that Freemasons come from rich high , middle high class , both Nasser and Sadat did not enjoy this background
about Mubarak well 100% he is not a freemason because his history is well known to everyone , Mubarak is an example of a real military man , he never joined any group , and this helped him in 1960s when officers were discriminated because of their political views

  6. The fact that this person or that person is a freemason is not among what is secret about this society. Their ranking inside is a secret, their citivity inside is a secret. Their impact in the society is not easily distiguished from other activities, their top agenda is secret. they help each other (even if one committed a crime). They have lower level more open suborganizations like "the shriners" (those who wear a fez "tarbouch"). And till today they are among US presidents. They use alot of ancient Egyptian Gods, symbols. The fact that the pyramid is on the US dollar is because almost all the US founders were freemasons.

  8. @Ohio , we only knew about the famous Freemason politicians after their death from their bios , of course it was easy to know in the past in the west because they wear these rings

  10. @Ohio, if everything is a secret how can one know they cover each other's murders? Or anything for that matter?

The Freemasons origins are documented historically and they play a major role with the Church and it's beginnings in Europe.

Are they good? Bad? Is man?

    ReplyDelete
  11. @N.American Princess, thank you dear

@Sam , whether they are good or bad , it depends on how you look to them and to their believes "it is hard because they are not so clear"

    ReplyDelete
  12. It is difficult to argue whether or not a person is a Freemason as everyone here agrees that it's a secret society.

Having said that, I find it difficult to swallow that the actions and history of King Hussein and King Abdullah II are sufficient to label them as Freemasons, but at the same time accepting that Mr. Mubarak is 100% not a Freemason simply because "his history is known" and he is a "real military man".

In Jordan, we have come to be accustomed to criticism and to accept it constructively. Being of Palestinian origin and an Arab also led me to become a great believer in conspiracy theories. So this is not an act of defense, but it is an invitation to broaden your thinking and accept criticism in the same manner that you give it, and of course in the same constructive manner - as I believe this is a mature blog space.

Again in your answer you say that all the Freemasonry Lodges were closed in Egypt. They're supposed to be secret so how can you be so certain that none are still operative? If we all are with the opinion that Freemasonry is present in Jordan (again, I'm not denying that it might be), I would like to let you know that they are not on the yellow pages! We don't say to the taxi driver to "take the 2nd right after the Freemasonry Lodge please!". So if it exists in Jordan and we in Jordan do not know where it is located in a country with a population of 6 million people and you can drive across it north to south in about 5 hours, if such a lodge can be hidden in Jordan, yet have a good hunch about it actually being here somewhere, how can you be certain that a country with over 70 million people cannot have a single hiding space for a couple of up to no good Freemasons(Even if these two are from Jordan lol).

My above argument can suggest that Freemasonry exists in Jordan, but also in Egypt. But it could also suggest that it's very hard to prove that it exists in Egypt, but in that case it's also hard to prove that it exists in Jordan as well.

My point is, when discussing such matters, we really need to be a bit more objective and never take things in their absolute senses. You're killing the conspiracy theory with this kind of argument.

By the way, the existence of Freemasonry in Egypt does not make Egyptians bad people just as it does not imply that Jordanians are bad. Egyptians are extremely highly regarded in Jordan.. their history as well as the present. Most of the parents of people I know take great pride in having studied, lived, or worked in Egypt at some point in their lives. So you see, this is not a cheap shot to have a go at Egypt, I do wish you would keep an open mind.

Thank you for this very interesting article.

    ReplyDelete
  13. @jordanian , I am sure from Egypt because the act of freemasonry and lodges are banned since 1961 along with Jehovah Witnesses and Baha'ism , all the lodges were closed till these day
of course if we listen to the conspiracy theories that consider the Lions and similar clubs another shape of Freemason clubs , that in the countries that ban freemasonry these clubs will operate and so on
then Egypt have a freemasonry activity
    about Jordan
do not forget that this claim came from outside
also do not forget that the late King may not member in a lodge inside Jordan but outside it for example in UK
By the way the freemasonry lodges do not open or operate in Secercy , this is from history
about Mubarak , well Nasser would not have chosen him if he had any political activity , you do not know how it was like back in 1960s
already Mubarak no way was or is going to be from Freemasonry due to his modest upbringing

I want you all to know (due to some being ignorants) that Freemasonry grants Honorary Degrees upon people like Princes, Kings, Presidents, also famous people for their achievements and in helping societies advance... Many famous people in the course of history were granted the honorary 33rd degree. They do not have to be active Freemasons. If you want to post anything research it well first.

    Good luck in your research.

  28. To the writer of the Article. I do not see your article about the Late King Hussein was a freemason. First of all, if you are as a great of a person as the Late King Hussein, then speak about him. Your article is covert argument to prove that late King Hussein was not a true Muslim. You are not a person of peace like King Hussein, therefore, you want to raise the subject of Muslims vs. Jews, Muslims vs. Christians, Christians vs. Jews, now Muslims vs. Freemasons.... Oh. Do not forget the Hindus, buduhsits and everyone who does not share your religon or beliefs. You need to ask one simple question, if there is only one God and one religon, then why there are too many faiths? If God is so powerfull and want everyone to believe in one religon, then why God created so many religons so that you can pick and choose who is the right one? It appears that God contridcts his own doctrine. If you keep rasing arguments with each other over who is religion is the universal Supereme, then the belief that God Created Man does not exit. With your illogical theories and your lack of common sense and logic, you have proved that Man created God in his own mental form so that you continue to argue with each other to prove that your God is right and everyone else's God is wrong. Keep thinking this way because religion makes you limited and mentally weak. On the other hand, the late King Hussein - an enlighted man, and a devouted man to God of peace, respected all religons, and peoples should be respected for his actions. And So what he was a freemason, great powerfull men are freemason, and you are not becasue you are mentally limited and weak.

  31. im from Jordan and it was a well known fact that king hussein was a freemason, we had the masonic temple in Jabal Amman , now we dunno where the masonic temple is exactly , but they masonics have a gathering place in khelda only masonics are allowed in that place! And we have two masonic groups which king abdullah belongs to one of em , lions and lloyd , you can see "charty parties" by these groups in layalina magazine , ofcourse freemasons always hide under charity crap, but if you look around you you'll see theyre awaiting the arrival of their master they control every aspect of our lives , you dont need to be smart to see it, and most politicians belong to secret societies so why is it a shock again? And who said that islam is not poisoned by the freemasons ideology just look at Saudi Arabia the perfect example , they claim to be following the sharia laws when theyre far from it and everything they teach in schools about religion is crap , you turn on your tvs and listen to the shaikhs talkin shit and they decide whats allowed in islam and whats not! So muslims are brainwashed as much as everybody else in this world , yall need to watch the arrivals documentary its a great documentry and do urselves a favor stop watching the news and i mean from fox news to Al jazeera theyre all full of shit!!

I measure things by the following what x or y did for his country and now I orient this for the guys from Jordan you should not deny that King Hussein built a good country despite all the obstacles he built a very good universities very great medical constructions and services compare your self with neigbour countries even I am living in a country in the gulf and in many sides Jordan more advanced than this country although they have huge amount of money, you would see the difference lets compare King Hussein with Hafth Al Assad(he set back syria behind 40 years go and see although they have petroluem they have fertile lands they have and have ....etc!) or with Saddam who destroyed Iraq with his glorious dreams or with Mubarak who is stealing Egypt income...!!!
I think we should not neglect what King Hussien did for Jordan,I can say that Hussien was a clever man who knows how to flow and be blanced and he took what he wants from the west and the east and this is a wise policy for a poor country like Jordan. Please be wise and don't think by your emotions it won't work!!!

Someone wrote about King Hussain not being a Muslim because he is a freemason, Well what i know about free masons that they dont believe in religion as a part of a movement, meaning that it doesn't really matter what religion you are because its your own faith and you should practice it by your own. That's why people are linking being liberal with being masonic which is not true.
From my point of view there are many Arab leaders that I believe that they are somehow involved in Masonic action and some are gulf leaders too.

They have already started their destruction by getting Sunni and Shiit to kill each other, then Mossad to form AlQAEDA and degrade Islam's image all over the world. Money talks and nothing else!
