#EgyStudents : You Can Not Force Rana to Shut up

Rana with her friends last Tuesday
Rana El Siyad Fouad , a student in the secondary stage in a private school who participated and led a students protest against the draft constitution to Tahrir square last Tuesday December 11th,2012 among other students from different schools. “College De la Salle, Jesuites and the Franciscan”
Rana spoke to Al Masry Al Youm and her photo was featured in the newspaper. She was quoted for saying that she decided to participate in the protest because she wanted a constituent assembly that truly represents the whole Egyptian society adding that President Morsi issues constitutional declarations in order to distract people from the draft constitution.
Now from two days ago officials from the ministry of education went to Rana’s school "The Franciscan" and interrogated her about her quotes in Al Masry Al Youm. The brave girl insisted on her opinions. Rana’s father is proud of his daughter and he is not worried on her but rather is worried on how the ministry of education is turned in to a security apparatus.
There is a strong students moving growing in high schools in Egypt especially in language schools and in National Institutions schools like Jesuit school in the #Feb11 General strike in universities. Egypt is changing.
We saw this movement and how it stood against SCAF and it did not stop.It will not stop. Of course what is happening to Rana is an intimidation in order to make her an example and force other students not to participate and speak about politics. This is how it starts.
Now if the Muslim brotherhood and the ministry of education are annoyed about how a teenage girl is leading a protest against the draft constitution , I would to remind them the Muslim brotherhood as illegal non authorized political group has got a whole division for preparatory and secondary stage to recruit students. The Muslim brotherhood supporters should remember that late Martyr Islam of Mahla was 15 years old when he allegedly got a directive from the MB to protect its HQ when thugs attacked him and died.
Here is Rana Speaking on TV last night on MBC Misr

  1. I am curious to know if Rana read the constitution. How much of it she understood? Many adults find the wording and phrasing and technical terms difficult to understand.
Could Rana for instance if she was interviewed quote specific articles? give an in depth reasonable argument against ones which she is protesting about? I find it hard to believe she could.

  2. I'd also like to add to my previous reply that I have been watching English Nile TV and am daily hearing the guests discuss the constitution who clearly have no idea what they are talking about and are just using sound bites over and over again without any real rebuttal or understanding of history or constitutions. Everyone today seems to be an expert and I have heard very FEW experts so far who know what they are talking about. I cannot imagine Rana as passionate as she may be would have much of a clue either when it came down to it and if she were to enter any form of debate about the subject.

    1. Why? Because she is a woman? I mean there are 236 articles , but they are explicit enough. Besides, if you believe a bright student cannot understand the constitution, what about the millions of Egyptians who can't even read it and yet are voting for it?

  3. Dear anon,
It takes an expert to deeply discuss a "Constitution" ;nevertheless, even a child could detect that a "4 am " constitution upon which there is a "50%" people agreement and "100%" domination of a single group , SHOULD NOT BE ADOPTED...

  5. this is exactly what the deluders want to prove. a woman cannot voice her opinion just being a woman.they are showing their deluded followrs that the are applying the sharia of allah.the tossers.they have made a constitution that enables them to invite the worst and ignorant interpretations of sharia and islamic jurisprudence, opening the debate on unsettled issues for the last 1500 years, instead of concurring with others on the agreed upon interpretations and practices .are they the ones mandated by god to rise above all people in interpretion the great religion of islam,in applications that are far from the spirit of islam,or are they intending the delusion of their followers for political gains?.this is not islamic sharia ,this is islamic anarchy.

  6. Here is a resemblance that could be seen in egypt,is the extremists roam the country/
They are literal bodies of history, living texts that rewrite the present and returning the German homeland to its volkisch roots and heroic past. Barriers that separate past and present are torn down through the dressing – or undressing – of living bodies, while a whole new future based on myth becomes the new reality. the thoroughness with which the metamorphosis of reality was achieved. (18). Thousands of human beings are amassed into a collection of uniformed blocks on the Nuremberg courtyard; they are a concentric stream of densely conglomerated nobodies obediently trimming the pathway of the Fuhrer’s motorcade; they are an epic gathering of millions of extended arms; they are the legs of a schoolboy in his knee-high socks standing on tiptoe to get a better view through the crush of bodies; they are hands of the Jugund beating their drums in synch with one another like perfect marionettes; they become the empty face of Youth staring straight ahead, the only presence of life hinted at by beauty. Like a Dantean vortex, the process of deconstruction breaks the symbolic body down piece-by-piece, economizing, funneling it through a procedure that gets narrower and narrower. The Face becomes the most intimate and most frighteningly absent present representation of Nazi deconstruction, made more haunting because it returns the place of recreation to the Beginning as held by Youth. Beautifully blank, chosen, and immortal, the face of youth is fictionalized through its marbleized flesh, its enameled eyes, and its effervescent blond hair to be a poem of purity

    1. So very good - just in Egypt we don't have that immortal beauties. Just some bearded, pot-bellied sexists, who want to impose their religious fiction on others, harassing women in this life and hoping for an after-life full of virgins ready to servicing them.

  8. I think she's smart enough to understand that, for instance, a Constitution should allow freedom of association into trades unions but not limit the number of those unions in any profession - that's not a complicated concept, except for those who drafted the Egyptian Constitution. And as for Article 219, do you actually have to be at the Al-Azhar to understand it?

  9. The Believed Delusion.
Most Islamic movements aim to achieve this ideal Caliphate by forming political parties and working within the existing political systems in their countries. But this strategy requires acquiescing to the sovereignty of the existing State, which they regard as idolatry. They also presume that because prophet Muhammad and the Caliphs of the past occupied positions of leadership that they constituted an “Islamic State” while I would argue that the foundations on which Muhammad built the social order in Medina did not constitute a “State” by modern definitions, and misunderstanding this distinction is a huge contributing factor to the failure of these movements. Bayah” is a forgotten concept in most muslim countries, just as “consent of the governed” is a forgotten concept among most Americans. Violent monopolies claim to enjoy “tacit consent” from their subjects, which means if you say nothing they assume you consent. And in my experience, even if you tell them you don’t consent they govern you anyway. So, for the muslim fundamentalist, the most important right to be demanded is the right to make your oath explicitly to the leader of your choice. This means you must afford the same right to others to make their oaths explicitly to the leader of their choice, and not claim to rule them against their will. No State, whether it’s “islamic” or not, can ever afford such a right on its subjects, because it defies its nature as a monopoly.

  10. More on The Clown Punchers’ Constitution’s hijacking to their own monopolist interpretation Of The Sharia.
There is no one sharia. Five major schools of sharia developed after the death of the Prophet Mohammed and during the Middle Ages–four in the Sunni tradition and one in the Shiite tradition. A school consists of a guild, or group of scholars, that developed specific interpretations of Islamic law; over the centuries, its precedents became legally binding. Muslims in different geographical regions favored different sharia schools, a practice that continues to this day. Do observant Muslims have to adhere to tenets of one of the five schools?
Not necessarily. Modernist thinkers since the 19th century have argued for new interpretations of Islamic law, and actual practice varies for each individual. “The Islamic sharia is not an easily identifiable set of rules that can be mechanically applied, but a long and quite varied intellectual tradition,” says Nathan Brown, an expert on Arab constitutionalism at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Most Islamic movements aim to achieve this ideal Caliphate by forming political parties and working within the existing political systems in their countries. But this strategy requires acquiescing to the sovereignty of the existing State, which they regard as idolatry. They also presume that because prophet Muhammad and the Caliphs of the past occupied positions of leadership that they constituted an “Islamic State” . Bayah” is a forgotten concept in most muslim countries, just as “consent of the governed” is a forgotten concept among most Americans. Violent monopolies claim to enjoy “tacit consent” from their subjects, which means if you say nothing they assume you consent. And , even if you tell them you don’t consent they govern you anyway. No State, whether it’s “islamic” or not, can ever afford such a right on its subjects, because it defies its nature as a monopoly. With all of the above how can you chose? and why open the subject of sharia now? my answer is that it is a political move aimed at the deconstruction of the country ,and thus fullfiling this very same target, with the pretence that it is about time to recreate the “islamic state”. bloody tossers.

  11. Interesting how since the Anon made no reference to her being female a few people here went off on a tangent about that fact says more about them than the Anon poster. As for the misinformation about it being 50% with 100% from Egyptian Engineer above. Seems to me that Egyptian 'Engineer' needs to get his facts straight. I would not be surprised either if Egyptian Engineer also has a brass plaque on his door informing people passing that he is an 'Engineer' ; )
