Jews Not To Enter The Temple Mount !!

This week the statements of Rabbi Yosef Sholom Elyashiv made headlines in the Arab world as well as Israel , for sure it deserves to be in the headlines because it is not everyday a Haredi Rabbi says that the precise location of the Holy of Holies of temple mount is not known.

The Rabbi wants to ban the entry of Jews as it is forbidden by Torah law for anyone other than the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) to enter the Holy of Holies, and that only during specific times during worship in the Temple service.

He also believes that trying to enter to the Holy of Holies which is our Al-Aqsa Mosque will provoke the gentiles aka the Arab Muslims and thus could cause a bloodshed that would cause a war , so it is better not to enter it.

It is very interesting point of view for sure , despite it is theologically disputed in Judaism but still as I said it is very interesting , it is not every day to hear a Haredi rabbi as I mentioned before says such views.

I hope the followers of Rabbi Elyashiv listen to him and do not go there.

  1. the overwhelming majority of modern rabbies (including the israeli chief rabbinate) is that jews are currently barred from praying in the temple mount.

and besides, most arabs refuse the notion that we have any stake in the temple mount (or any of our link to israel, for that matter...) and that it's the holiest of our places... so how come this gets publicized in so many papers?

  2. I saw someone in the TV long time ago said that some jews are against the idea of isreal state, because the believe that once jews are gathered in one place, this would be a sign for the begining of the end. is this true ?

  3. That's not quite accurate, it's more like mixing of several things. Jews who are anti-zionist by religious convictions claim that the only time Jews would be allowed a country is when the messiah arrives. It is true that the coming of the messiah is supposed to be preceded by a great war (gog and magog), but I have yet to see any who claim that the founding of israel would lead to that war.

I still fail to see the significance of this post though. And i doubt most arabs would want to adopt eliyashiv's stance about the ties between Jews and Israel...

  4. It really is not a big deal whether the Chief Jew asks other jews not to enter the Al-Aqsa Masjid or not....but the main issue is when would these foreign jews return the land to the indigenous people who were removed through torture and intimidation??
