It is the time for those monthly Covid-19 posts in Egyptian Chronicles and believe I will not be sad when I stop writing them inshallah.
This time it is a quick look into official Covid-19 numbers in Egypt after 20 months since its arrival to the country in February 2020.

The usual disclaimer: According to Minister of Health Hala Zayed in early January, the official numbers of cases represent between 10%-15% of the real number of cases worldwide Egypt included.
Those official numbers represent the patients who enter the ICUs in designated coronavirus isolation public hospitals in the country in critical condition according to official statements, not the mild cases of coronavirus or those who receive treatment at home.

From August 2021 to September 2021 in Egypt
The total numbers of official registered cases went up from August “4,179 cases” to September “16,083 cases” by 74%.
The total numbers of officially registered fatalities went up too from August “212 cases” to September “595 cases” by 64%.
Meanwhile, the total number of officially registered recoveries also went up from August “8,975 cases” to September “17,543” by 48.8%
Egypt began to have officially its fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic in September according to officials.
Comparing to September 2020 in Egypt
The total numbers of official registered cases hit the ceiling in September 2021 “16,083 cases” comparing to September 2020 “4,259 cases” by 276%!!!
The total number of official fatalities cases increased in September 2021 “595 cases” comparing to September 2020 “ 509 cases” by 16.89%.
The total number of official recoveries cases decreased in September 2021 “17,543 cases” comparing to September 2020 “21,565 cases” by 18.65%.

Vaccination Progress
According to the WHO, 16,959,764 vaccine doses have been administrated in Egypt by 30 September.
Health Minister Hala Zayed stated that over 7 million Egyptians have received doses of the coronavirus vaccine so far while over 7 million citizens have received both doses and became fully vaccinated.
Egypt has also increased the number of vaccination centres to become 1,100 centres across the country including 270 youth centres by the end of September.
Egypt has already obtained more than 40.4 million of AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Sputnik , Sinovac , Johnson and Johnson and Sinopharm vaccines
